Hope

I walked by our old house
Our once home
When we were two yet one
Not alone
T'was dilapidated
Distressed
In such a state
Of tragedy since we left
Shingles missing
Stripped paint
Dying lawn
Utter disarray
And as the tears welled over
As sadness wracked my brain
Pain at this loss
Lost the things reminisced
They're gone
Nostalgia wrecked
It's all gone
A place for us
Is it gone too?
But there by the porch
I saw our roses yet still bloom
