I shook my head, "No. Stop messing with me, there is no way that's his last name."
"I'm serious! Look!" She turned to her computer and pulled up the class list. She scanned it before pointing to one name.
Sure enough, there he was. Austin Hoying.
"Is that... Is that Scott's son?" I asked.
"I'm guessing it is, but we have no way to check what his parents names are." Angelina told me, though I already knew.
I felt a pang of sadness at the thought of Scott getting married and having a son. But then I just felt stupid. Of course he did, why wouldn't he? And why would it matter to me anyway? It was a high school crush, it's not like it matters anymore.
It's just so weird to think about. I was only 25 so he was what, 27? I guess that makes sense if Austin is 5 already.
And I was still alone. What a sad life I have.
"Earth to Scarlett!"
I was snapped out of my thoughts suddenly. "What?"
"I said are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine, why?"
"You completely zoned out on me for a minute there. Are you seriously still freaking out about him?" She asked.
"Pshh, no! Why would I be?"
"I don't know you just seem weird."
"Well I'm fine." I told her.
A couple minutes later the bell rang signaling the end of the day. All the kids got up and spilled out the door, going down the hallway to find their parents in the parking lot.
Angelina walked back to her desk after all of the kids were gone and got all of her things together before putting them in her bag.
"I gotta run, Drew and I are going out tonight," she told me.
"Awww!!"
She rolled her eyes, "We've been married almost 2 years now, when are you going to stop fangirling every time I tell you we're gong out?"
I laughed, "Never!"
She smiled at me before saying, "Come on, I'll walk with you to your car."
We walked down to my car in silence.
"Well, have fun tonight!" I said as I opened up the car door.
"Thanks! I'll see you on Monday!"
"Yup!"
I got in the car and drove to my apartment.
I walked up to the door and dug around in my purse to find my keys.
I really need to clean this thing out.
I sighed, not being able to find them and knocked on the door, hoping my room mate was home.
Dawn opened the door with her eyebrows raised, "Lost your keys again?"
"Pshh me?... noooo..."
"Mmmhmm."
She walked away from the door so I could get in.
I dropped my bag on the floor and flopped down on the couch.
"Hey, I have a date tonight so you'll have to suffer through tonight without me." she joked.
"Really? Who's the guy?"
"A new one I met. He seems reallyyy sweet!"
"Oooooh. What's his name?"
"Zack."
"Cute name."
"And cute boy." She grinned.
"Interesting. Have a fantastic time with Zack!"
"Thanks, love!"
About 15 minutes later she left and I had the apartment to myself. I was starting to think I would literally be alone forever.
A/N: the chapters will get more interesting soon, I promise. But thank you guys for the comments! you make my day :)
