Louis's POV

I was to stop by at Kristel's place after school. She and I were talking along the way. About Liam. She wanted me to tell her "every single detail" that I recall from the last time I hung out with him.

The last time we went biking, he seemed alright. He was cheerful enough at the time. I only realized that he was a bit down when Vanessa asked me about it.

We didn't get to talk much after that. I figured he was busy. Summer job perhaps? But why only then? He wasn't online much, either. His last tweet and last status update were both posted on the day we rode our bikes. It said: "Just got home. Spent the afternoon biking with my bro, Louis. See ya soon, mate!"

"And that was the last I heard of him. Until this morning." I told Kristel.

We placed our bikes in their garage, and went inside the house.

Kristel's POV

"Hey, sis. Hi, Louis." my sister, Kate, greeted us.

"Oh,you're home. Where's mom?" I asked her.

"She just went out to buy something. I think."

"Hey, Kate, how come you got home earlier when we went by bike?" Louis asked.

"Well, I went straight home after the last class." she answered him, then added, "What's the matter?"

My sister must have noticed Louis frown as he sat down on the couch. He just shrugged as a reply.

Kate looked at me. I looked at Louis, who jerked his head, which I knew meant "Sure.".

So I told my sister what had happened.

Kate also hangs out with us (me, Louis, Liam, and sometimes Vanessa when she was with us) in school. She was only a year younger than me, and when not with her other friends, she hangs out with us. We were all pretty close to each other, but I had to ask Louis. It was he Kate asked about, in the first place.

Louis' POV

"Well, that's new. I mean, he always makes time for Louis, despite loads of other friends hanging out with him. But now, he's avoiding him?" I heard Kate Clifford say.

"And me. And even Vanessa." Kristel corrected. "Have you seen him today though?" she added.

"Not really." Kate answered her sister. "Want me to stalk him for you, Louis?" she then asked me, half jokingly.

"I'd do it myself if I want to, but the thing is, I don't. I don't just want to know what's wrong, I wanna talk to him." I told them.

"How cheesy you are." Kate teased, earning a "That's what I said!" from Kristel.

"But I think you need to find out what's up first." Kate added.

"No I don't!" I retorted back. And she, being Kate Clifford, did so as well.

"Can you two give it a break?!" Kristel raised her voice a little.

"No!!!" "No way!" Kate and I shouted back at the same time.

We all laughed, and were surprised when Mrs. Clifford appeared and said, "Now,what are you guys arguing about?"

They insisted that I stay for dinner, and how could I refuse? I've been welcome in the Cliffords' house for as long as I can remember. Kristel and Kate both saw me as a brother. As for Mrs. Clifford? She saw in me her sons. Her sons, Jacob, Ken, and Kyle were with their father, who works in the U.S. I saw them last when I was around ten years old. Mrs. Clifford and her daughters visit them every year or so.

Before I headed home, Kristel and I agreed to let the next few days go by without approaching Liam if he doesn't approach either of us first. Kristel thinks he needs space, and that's exactly what we'll give him.

A.N: Hello :D As you may notice, I'm still not finished introducing these characters. I just really want and really need to emphasize some of these details ;) You can tell me what you think. About Liam being the rich and popular one, or maybe about the Cliffords :) I'm telling you, I'm just in the introduction. There. Will. Be. More. :)
