Kristel's POV

Louis and I went biking the next day. I freaked out when I almost ran into someone.

"Sorry!" I sort of yelled in panic.

She just nodded, smiled a little, and went on her way.

She looked familiar. And upset. I could've sworn I've seen her somewhere before. And not just once...

Louis's POV

Kristel was biking ahead of me. I saw someone, a girl, cross the lane and the next thing I knew, Kristel stopped abruptly and I had to steer a bit to avoid bumping into her.

I heard Kristel say sorry and the girl just continued. I think she was moving at a pace somewhere between walking and running.

"You alright?" I asked Kristel.

"Yep. Just panicked a little." she said.

I looked around me for the girl. She was nowhere in the park.

"I think she's a schoolmate. I remember taking some classes with her a few years ago. I'm sure it's her." I told Kristel.

"She looked upset. Do you know her name? Are you in speaking terms with her?"

"I forgot, actually. We've never really talked." I said.

We biked on and found Liam sitting on one of the benches, his phone in his hands, frowning.

"Hey, mate! What's up?" I said to him.

"Oh, hey. Just chillin'." he grinned.

"Mind if we sit down, Liam?" Kristel asked him.

"'Course not." he said, laughing a bit.

Still chuckling, he put his arm around Kristel as we sat down on either side of him. She blushed. Then he took it back and went back to his phone.

Okay???

He was on twitter. I saw him tweet something, and saw him mention us.

He smiled at both of us and stood up.

"So, guys, up for another round?" he said, motioning to our bikes.

"But you haven't brought your bike." I said.

"I can rent. So? Okay. I'll catch up with you two as soon as I've got one."

And we biked for another half hour, and all went home.

I was lying in bed and browsing my twitter. I saw Liam's tweet to us in my interactions. Kate Clifford also flooded my timeline.

So I tweeted her, and this is how our convo went.

Louis Tomlinson

I'm knee-deep in floodwater, @KtClffrd!!! XD #SomethingToMatchYourCorniness

Kate Clifford

@Louis_Tomlinson haha! Sorry, I didn't know you were online! XD

Louis Tomlinson

@KtClffrd what's up, girl? :)

Kate Clifford

@Louis_Tomlinson nothing!!! XD Just a little high, that's all. ;) XD

Louis Tomlinson

@KtClffrd oh, alright. :) Good night! :D

Kate Clifford

@Louis_Tomlinson night-night! :D

I think she signed out after that. And there I was lying on my bed, thinking about what happened that afternoon.

Those simple gestures made me curious. Liam putting his arm around Kristel, and her blushing.

Liam seemed a bit more high than usual. His movements and gestures were exaggerated. It was like he was trying to impress or something.

But impress who? Kristel? Does he like her? Is that why he asked me if I still did?

And I could've sworn Kristel had a crush on him back in middle school. But we never really talked about it. Did she? Or was I just being paranoid back then?

What if she still likes Liam now? What if he does like her? Could there be something going on that I don't know about?

I couldn't sleep. I haven't really thought about my crush on Kristel much for some time. Not since lately when Liam asked me about it.

I didn't know how long it took me before I drifted off, but I feel like it took forever while I was thinking about those things.

...

I was biking on my way to school. Alone. Liam's car drove past me, and someone was riding shotgun. Kristel.

I was looking at them as I rounded the corner of the street. Distracted, I nearly ran over a girl who was about to cross. On her way to school, probably. I spun my bike in panic, and fell.

The girl turned and helped me up. I was right, she was a schoolmate. I have this feeling I've met her somewhere else before, other than school. I can't quite put my finger on it.

My head was spinning. Must be because of the fall. I could see Liam and Kristel walking to the school's entrance. His arm around her. He must have parked already. Wait... Park! I've seen the girl before at the park.

But she was gone. She already crossed the street, and I was alone again in the corner.

...

I woke with a start. It was a dream. It's already Monday morning and I decided to text Kristel.

Me: Good morning, Kristel. :) Hey, I remember the girl's name. The one we saw yesterday at the park. Her name's Courtney Prior. See ya at school! :)

-----------

A/N. Hey again! :) I know I said last chapter's questions would be answered, but I never said when! ;) Besides, you can start guessing the answers to them :) You can also start guessing what role Courtney Prior will play in the story ;) I hope you're not getting impatient waiting for the answers, 'cause like they always say: "It's the journey, not the destination."
