Louis's POV
People were starting to crowd the hallway, so I just fixed my things.
I don't want to talk to Liam and Kristel. At least, not about this. I'll have to convince them that I know nothing. Maybe if they tell me all this within this week, I might be able to forgive them for it. Maybe.
Well, imagine your best friends keeping something (or maybe even a lot of things) from you... And it was years later until you yourself found out, and they still haven't told you. I'm telling you, it's gonna hurt.
More people were crowding the hallways. Opening their lockers, fixing their things, and chatting with friends.
I closed my locker. What do I do? Do I tell Courtney? Or do I wait for Liam and/or Kristel to do it themselves? I already decided not to confront them about it, so I might as well wait.
A week, maybe. Until Friday, then. I looked around me. There was nobody I trust enough to open up to. Actually, they just don't really care. Until...
"Louis!"
Vanessa was walking toward me. I wonder if she knows about this... But I'm afraid of the answer to that.
When she reached my locker, we started to walk to our next class.
"Hey." I said, faking a smile.
She frowned.
"What's the matter?"
"Nothing." I lied.
"Oh, really? C'mon. Tell me."
"Fine. I just need someone to talk to."
"About what?" she asked.
"I..."
Do I risk telling her? What if she knew from the start, and what if she tells Kristel?
"What?" she looked worried.
I sighed. As much as I hate admitting it, she's the only one I've got.
"Promise you won't tell anyone about any of this? As in anyone." I had to make sure.
She looked at me thoughtfully. She sighed, then said,
"Okay. I promise."
"What would you do when you realize that someone you trust is keeping something from you?" I asked. I didn't have to tell her that I know. I just need advice. And I know this girl's got loads.
"I would talk to that person. I don't want to use the term 'confront'. Just 'talk'. Why?" she said.
"But would it also be okay to wait for that person to tell you?"
"Well, how long will the wait be, exactly? What if he/she doesn't really plan on telling you? It's just gonna make you impatient and uncomfortable."
She's right. But I don't have to point that out to her anymore. Haha.
The bell rung. End of our free period. We reached our room just in time.
When we entered, some of our classmates were already seated, talking to their friends. We found Liam and Kristel, and sat next to them.
Kristel was at Vanessa's left, and Liam was at Kristel's. I was at Vanessa's right. I felt relieved. I don't think I'm gonna be able to talk to them without giving myself away. They know me too well.
When the class ended, I told them that I needed to go to the bathroom.
"See ya next period." I said as I waved goodbye.
"Okay, see you." Vanessa said.
"See ya, mate!" Liam said, smiling.
"See you later." Kristel said.
And like I said, I did go to the bathroom. Then I went outside and walked near the field. It seemed like the conversation I heard from Liam and Kristel happened a long time ago. That must be the effect of me thinking about it too much.
I wonder what happened after I left...
Our next period starts in about fifteen minutes, and I didn't want to stay there long enough for them to start asking questions. And by them, I mean Liam and Kristel. I know Vanessa wouldn't, with them around to listen.
I trust her. I know I can. She promised.
Vanessa's [a/n. first :)] POV
I was walking in the hallway which was starting to get crowded. First period must have ended, and that means my free period's about to end as well.
Then I saw Louis. I greeted him. Something seemed to be bothering him. I know he was faking that smile when he greeted back.
So on our way to our classroom, I told him to spill. He made me promise not to tell anyone. He actually emphasized the word. Anyone?
I didn't want to ask him if Liam, Kristel, and Kate were included when he meant anyone. He wasn't in the mood, so I just agreed. When he told me not to tell anyone, with emphasis and all, I'm pretty sure he means it.
I was waiting for him to explain what happened, but he just asked a situational question. So I gave him the best advice I could give.
It was about a secret being kept from you by someone you trust. What happened? How come he's approaching me, when he never really wants to admit that I'm right about many things? Oh, but I am. :)
No, seriously, why just me, and not Kristel or Liam? Not even Kate, who always has something to say.
Is something wrong? Is he suspecting that something was being kept from him?
These thoughts were buzzing in my head during our class. When it ended, Louis left in a hurry. Great. First Liam, now him. This just proves that boys can get dramatic.
I must be overthinking, but I can't help but wonder if Louis found out about something...
