There wasn't any reason they had found us.
We'd made a portal to the pyramid and the initiates didn't even know we were leaving the Brooklyn House. We'd taken our precautions so that we weren't seen and not known about. But damn.
"Where's Thoth?" Christina asked which was a genuine question because the lab-coated god seemed to be know where in sight.
"That's how we knew Jonathan was here. Thoth just sort of said 'he's here' and then disappeared," Sadie said as we jogged to the stadium entrance. It kinda sucked to leave so soon but what can you do, come the semi-apocalypse, you know?
"Going somewhere?" A voice growled then grabbed me and threw me to the ground. My friends moved to help but each of them were grabbed by Keheran magicians [Keheran means of the Kehera Tribe, guys.]
A man pulled me up then pushed me against the wall. He pressed a knife to my throat and I looked at him to see that, sure enough, it was Jonathan. His hair was wavy and black and his eyes were his father's bright red color. I saw many scars from our battle only weeks before and his arm was bandaged but other than that he was in dark, casual clothing like a regular person would wear. He grinned evilly at me, "Oh, we're going to have so much fun!"
You guys are probably assuming Jonathan was going to hurt me. Bitch, please. I was going to make this guy pay in 99 gruesome ways. Typical Lloyd style. Two strong men came and took Jonathan's place pinning me down.
"Ah, guys," Jonathan sighed, "Look at us! Best friends, hanging out, right?" He laughed and Sadie growled.
"Get out of here you worthless piece of-" She tried but the men holding her covered her mouth.
"Oh, dear," Jonathan said, shaking his head, "I know some people who'd pay good money to have you. You know," He smiled and traced a finger across her chest. Sadie looked absolutely furious, "Touch you, beat you, use you. And you wouldn't be able to do a thing about it."
"You so much as touch her and I'll kill you!" Walt yelled as he struggled against his captors. I saw Jonathan's smile waver because you don't piss off the god of death. And you especially don't touch the girl he loves.
"Do not worry, Jackal Boy," Jonathan smiled cruelly, "There is only one girl that I would use," He walked across to Zia and Carter closed his eyes, focusing, "Zia, Zia, Zia. The eye of the great god Ra, no? Well," He ran a finger down her side and Zia struggled against the men's grips, "I do believe that Father said I could take any reward I would like...you know, being able to finally make Jake bend a knee to him."
"Oh?" I spoke up to try and buy Carter time, having noticed what he was going to do, "And what am I going to do when I bend my knee, hmm? Be obedient, carry out his orders? Well, sorry friend, you can't break me. Because I have nothing left in this life, and I know I'm going to Hell, so right now it's go big or go home."
Jonathan threw his head back and laughed, "You are similar to Ra, did you know that? He was strong and powerful but then Tefnut and Shu disappeared and suddenly, poof, he was devastated."
"Nice try, but I don't have any sons and I don't weep and create humans. So I'd like to see who you think can break me," I said even though images of Dean, Sam, and Mia flashed through my mind and I panicked.
Jonathan walked over to Christina and I started breathing really fast and getting mad. But, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Carter sending silent messages to the others.
"Little, Rivera girl," Jonathan said, putting a finger under Tina's chin and turning her head up to him. I heard him laughing, "I know it is him you dream about. I know you crave his touch. Tell your friends who I'm talking about, hmm? Tell them how you dream of him touching you in his ways at night. You are weak, girl. Nothing. So, lets show him your story, huh?" He took a knife and slowly started sawing the fabric of her shirt. I heard her crying out, but that isn't what I focused on. I focused on the back of Jonathan's neck and I formulated my plan. Quietly, I broke my captors' grips and knocked them out. I saw Jonathan about to completely tear her shirt but I whistled loudly. He whipped around but my gun was already out and pressed against his forehead.
"I told you, bad things would happen if you touched her," I said and his other magicians let go of my friends and charged me. But they were top of the line magicians and those men never reached me. When the men released Christina, I saw her shrink to the ground and I saw her guards get scorched and stabbed by Zia and Carter.
"Walt, would you like to do the honors?" I said and he smiled then touched Jonathan and turned him to ash. But, instead of disintegrating, he started cracking until he broke into shards of baked clay. He cracked until he exposed a note in his clay center which only read: SIKE!
I crumbled the note and moved to Christina, who was still curled up on the ground. I wrapped her up in my arms and tried to cover her front with the torn shirt as Sadie came over and comforted her. Sadie had been violated, but not as bad as Christina had been and I think she realized that.
"He...he almost showed you," Christina shivered and I heard Carter, Walt, and Zia sort of awkwardly back off to give her space.
"Hey," I said, stroking her hair, "You're alright, you're alright."
But she wasn't, and she locked eyes with me then Sadie and slightly lifted up her shirt a little. Lining her bare skin were thin red lines and I knew they were old cuts. But not from fights with other people, from fighting with herself. Taking a razor and disciplining yourself with pain was something I knew far too well. I was glad Sadie was there because she hugged Christina and looked up at me. I gently grabbed Christina's wrist and kissed the scars there too. She closed her eyes and leaned into me and I joined Sadie and hugged her as well.
Just another day in Hell.
