[To be honest, Jake, Gabriel doesn't approve of Sadie as a whole, not just when she pushed you. I bet you it's the kite genes she has. Whoa, Sadie as a kite dating Gabriel, whoa, Jake, calm down. Anyways, I'm going to continue.]

Yes, I fell asleep in Jake's arms. Yes, I fell asleep with a red-tailed hawk on my shoulder. And yes, my ba decided to travel out the friggin' wazoo. My ba detached from my body and sailed out of the van and sped off away from the van. It settled down in a clearing of forest where the rain came down in a light drizzle. But there was nobody there.

"Hello?" I called out, "Is there anybody here?"

A medium sized gray cat stepped out of the tree line followed by the angel winged Amy Hoff. We locked eyes and she smiled and waved.

Then the cat spoke with a feminine catlike voice, "Hello, Christina. It's nice to see you."

I looked at the talking cat, "Lady Bast," I bowed, "It's an honor, m'lady."

"Oh, really?" Amy said sarcastically, "She gets a "m'lady" and I just get a wave?"

"Amy," I responded to her sarcasm with sarcasm, "M'lady it's so good to see you."

"Kits," Bast smiled as she turned into her female form with her changing pattern suit, "As much as I love watching you play wrestle, we've got a situation."

"What's up?" I asked curiously, "Has something happened?"

"Yes...and no," Bast said, leaning against a tree, "As you know, the gods have returned to the mortal world which is fine with me, except..."

"The gods are sort of, having trouble, I guess, because some of them are, ah, having trouble finding hosts. Which is, quite a large problem, considering that the gods have a hard time-"

"-getting there shit together?" I finished.

"Rude," Bast said, her voice dripping with Jake's sarcasm. I hate being disrespectful but I always fight sarcasm with sarcasm, "But that's beside the point. Kamehea is raising the gods."

"We know," I said.

"Yes," Bast said, "But did you know that Kamehea is controlling these gods, turning them into his own army?"

"Whoa, whoa," I said confused, "'Controlling them?' You can't control a god unless you have-"

"It's secret name," Amy finished, "Which is nearly impossible, seeing that he's bringing back gods like Set, Nekhebet, Babi, Sekhmet, and many others," her wings fluttered, "And he's made a dangerous friend."

The two of them flickered and Bast looked angry, "Ugh, mortal sleep patterns. Anyways, Christina, you need to know that Kamehea is building an army and he's allied himself with a dangerous man."

"Who?" I asked nervously as the wind picked up and the two of them started to flicker.

Amy met my eyes, "He's got the Book of Thoth. Kamehea and Setne are back."

The two of them disappeared and I sunk into a deep dreamless sleep.
