[Alright, Christina, this is BS; I try to follow Mia's advice and be all friendly and caring and then you're like 'Nope, shot down with stupid humor.' And that's just BS...Oh wait you have earbuds in. Damn!]

I woke up the next morning feeling pretty weird. Usually, if I'm doing something good like sleeping with my girlfr- Uh, good friend and I'll have like crazy dreams then wake up sweating. That time, I didn't, which was worrying, but it only worried me for a second. As soon as my eyes opened, there was that madly frustratingly cute girl lying beside me. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and pushed a strand of Tina's [River, as we call her] hair behind her ear. She let out a sigh and shifted sides so that she faced me. I leaned down and I was about to wake her up when Gabriel let out a soft insistent sound. I looked up at him and he shook his head, 'Don't do it. She's tired,' he seemed to say. With a sigh, I got up and got dressed. I looked at the hawk who gave me the puppy eye-thing when I didn't immediately grab me and take him with me.

"Really?" I asked him when he cocked his head, "Get on my damn arm."

He jumped up on my forearm and called out quietly. If the little feathery bastard thought I was taking the easy route, he was dead wrong. I popped open the window and spread out my wings. The wings were definitely the biggest surprise ever, but one of the coolest. I had never flown with them before but the weather didn't look great. A small drizzle persisted, lowering visibility, but that didn't stop me or Gabriel. Him and I dived from the window and I spread my wings. They worked like a charm. Soon, I was soaring through the rain and fog, touching wings with Gabriel, whooping and smiling, acting like a true bird. Suddenly, I heard a girl's voice coming from my open window.

"Jake! What in Ra's name are you doing?!" Christina called out worriedly. I could see her head poking out of the window, her messy bed head making her look kind of cute, "You two are going to kill yourselves!"

Gabriel screamed out and we flew over to the window. Gabriel perched on the windowsill while I used my wings to beat down softly and make me hover, "Come on, join us!"

Christina looked hesitant, "I don't have wings."

I dove down towards the window and braced myself against the sandstone wall. I spread my arms out and reluctantly she crawled out of the window. I wrapped her in my arms and kicked off the wall and started gliding. Christina swore and grabbed my shirt.

"Jake, Jake, the terrace. The terrace. Land, please!" She squeezed her eyes shut.

I flapped my wings two more times and then landed with a bump on the terrace. Christina didn't open her eyes until I released her and placed my hands on her waist.

"That was...alright?" I asked her.

She looked up at me then nodded and smiled gently, "It'll take some getting used to-"

Sadie came out of nowhere and pushed the two of us into the pool. It was freezing and my wings just held me down more but I watched Christina control the water and propel herself out of the water quickly. It took me a while to drag myself up and when I broke the surface, Christina was going ape-shit on Sadie.

"...a single moment of quiet is all I asked for! Just one moment with a peaceful kiss and then you push us in the pool! You-"

I cleared my throat as I pulled myself out of the pool, "Guys, guys, chill, it's not that bad. Except my wings aren't great in water. Which is bad, just saying."

Christina walked over and helped pull me out of the pool. Promptly, my wings sagged down to the side, soaked completely. Scratch that, EVERY part of me was soaked completely.

"You two," Sadie laughed, "Are quite possibly the best lovers ever."

Christina did not like being called that. She thrust out her arm and a torrent of pool water crashed down on Sadie. When the water cleared, Sadie's thick blond hair laid on her face like a sheet that was soaked. She shook her head and went back inside, despite the fact that Christina still looked uncomfortable. I put a hand on her shoulder.

"Do not take what she said to heart. Despite what the others say, we are still just friends," I reassured her, even though she did not look reassured.

"I...guess you're right. It's just," She paused to consider her next words and I kinda tried to mind will her to hurry up because the rain had just started coming down hard, "Okay, I like you, Jake. And I like being around you. But all that stuff about dating and love is just...I don't know uncomfortable to me. Now, don't get me wrong, I love kissing-"

"Yes," I nodded.

"-But I'm just new to this stuff, and it's kind of scary," Christina finished then looked up at me, "Yeah that probably sounded like some bullshit."

I shook my head as I lead her back inside, "No it didn't. I understand. And you know that you can absolutely tell me whenever you're uncomfortable, alright? Because I'll just back off."

She smiled, "You're a good...uh, um, boyfriend. Don't tell anyone I said that!" I made a lip sealing motion and Christina smiled then stood on her tiptoes [Kinda cute, just sayin'] and kissed me.

"Now," I said as she pulled away, "I'm friggin' soaked."

She laughed which was good to hear. And them the terrace rumbled slightly.

"Uh..." Christina said looking down, "Did you...?"

I pulled out my knives and Christina pulled out her wand and staff. The terrace rumbled again, this time louder. It kept getting louder and more frequent until it sounded like it was right over the side of the terrace. Suddenly, demons and other things flung themselves over the side and stood in front of us, ready to kill. Gabriel flew in a circle above us and I nodded at him. He dove suddenly at the door and I let him inside. That only angered the demons. Then there was a sound of clapping and I stood in front of Christina. The demons parted to reveal a boy, clapping his hands slowly. It was Jonathan. Christina growled and I hissed like a cat. Jonathan looked surprised.

"Oh my," He said in a sleepy voice dripping with sarcasm, "That's no way to greet a visitor."
