Two months after the miscarriage I was standing in Porters kitchen he was due home that evening and I was fixing some corn chowder in the crockpot for dinner We were starting to have cool weather so I wanted something in the crockpot since I had to go into work for a couple of hours to cover s shift for one of girls at work , I started working part time in the Labor and Delivery and ER
With Porter schedule for filming I could make it to where I was off when he was home specially since he was going to be traveling the whole month of October he would be home for a day or two here and there enough time to do laundry and re pack
This time he was home for a week
I was headed into work for the day when I got a call from one of the DR's I work with

Yes Dr Daniels
Remember the other day when you and I were talking about adoption

Well I have a patient that is going to be having a Baby in 3 months that She has found out the baby has Down syndrome and isn't going to be able to take care of the child she already has three children now before you say anything she was already planning to give this child up for adoption before she found out. She had already contacted an adoption agency and lawyer
I was talking to her about you how you have over came so much and she said she would like to meet you because you sound like the type of person that would be wonderful to raise her baby

Now Allie I know this is a lot to take in but I think she is right so will you meet her
I can't today I have to work in the ER to cover a shift
What time do you get off
3pm
Well she has an appointment at the office at 4
So come by there
So many thoughts were going through my head
Adoption , what would Porter say , heck we aren't even married would that matter
I finished up putting everything in the crockpot and left for Work
Driving in I was thinking about what DR Daniels said
I needed to talk to someone so I texted April told her what was going on and asked her give her opinion when I got parked in the parking lot
When I got a moment I texted Porter and asked him about it
Hey Handsome  I had one of the Drs. Call me and tell me about a girl that is due to give birth in 5 months she wants to give up the baby for adoption she already has 3 and this one is going to have Down Syndrome now she had already made arrangements before she found out
DR Daniels seems to think I would make a great mom to this Baby. How do you feel about this I need to know since you would be in this child's life just text me back later I gotta get back to work

I went back to work and finished my shift then went up to meet this girl
I knocked on the door of the exam room she was in Dr Daniels opened the door said come on in
She was a little thing and very young she had the bluest eyes just like Porters and Dylan's
I sat in there and we all talked
She had three children already her boyfriend who is the father of her three Didn't want any more children so when she found out she was pregnant again he told her to get an abortion but she didn't want to so she told him she was going to have the baby and give it up for adoption
I asked did she know what she was having
No I don't want to know the less attached I am the better she said
The baby moved around I saw her belly move
Touch my belly feel the baby move so I placed my hand and I felt the baby move and I knew at that moment I was going to become a mom in 5 months
As we talked my phone went off with a text from Porter
Honey if there is a child out there that needs us then let's do this  I will support what ever decision you make
This man always surprises me
After the appointment we exchanged numbers and she told the lawyers name and phone number so that I could contact him
I left the Dr office feeling so full of love I glanced at my Phone and saw the time Porter should be landing soon so I needed to go by my place well I should say Aprils she had moved in and was there more than me . Porter and I had several talks about the housing situation , he had asked me to move totally in with him so I did for the most part I still had some things at the house but not much like I said April had moved in and was paying me rent I had talked to a realtor a couple of days ago about selling it and they were very excited to sell it I hadn't talked to Porter about that yet but I really didn't need the house anymore
I ran into the house April was there

Oh my goodness I'm so happy for you
I have to get my corn bread sticks pan so I can make them to go with dinner
I found it and told her I would talk with her later

I made it home before Porter got the corn bread in the oven and was putting the bowl back in the cabinet when two arms came around me
Hi honey I'm home he said as he kissed my neck
I turned around and kissed him hard
His hands went up my shirt and unhooked my bra
Porter I said
Yes Allie he whispered.

This would be first time we made love since losing the baby
Clothes came off we left a trail from the kitchen to the bedroom of clothes
He lifted me up and put me on the bed
He climbed on the bed
Hands touched each other, bodies became one
Needs were met
As we laid in bed afterwards he brought up the adoption
So about this little baby are we adopting or what he asked
I smiled at him
I take that smile as a yes
Only if you are sure Porter,
Honey I am there is a little one that needs us so yes I'm sure
I met the birth mother she is so little with this big baby bump I felt the baby move too
Do you think we should ask your parents how they would feel about us adopting and not being married
Well I have Allie they are fine with us adopting and as for being Married I'll just have to take care of that
Porter you don't have to marry me
Honey I want too , over this past year I have falling in totally  love with you from the top of your head to the tip of your cute little toes
And no this isn't a proposal , but I will ask you to marry me soon enough
I smiled at him and said even if these was I would say yes
He grinned good to know now let's go eat so we can go get Dylan for the weekend
