This one Girl

I couldn't stop thinking about the nightmare, but I was able to stop by the town a few times over the next few weeks, each time catching unwanted attention, but a few kids came up to me and gave me little origami birds, and I thought they were super cool, so I brought them to life and gave them back. They all thought I was this guy, from one of the ancient comic books, "superman" or something, even though I don't think he had the power to bring things to life. Honestly, the whole super strength thing was kind of boring to me, especially with him, like, he had literally infinite strength. Where's the fun in that?
The kids were having fun with their new flying paper friends, so I kept on going down the old road. I walked into a supermarket, I guess, from the outside it looked like a small corner store, but inside had shelves for ages, and I could've ran for miles and still not gotten to the end. It's a shame how they call these stores convenient, because you can't find anything in this place. The shelves were all nearly empty, and nobody was at the cash registers. I figured something was up, so I used my life vision and scouted the area. This area wasn't really a shop, though, it looked like, some kind of fortress. The outside walls were titanium and the surrounding area was lined with barbed wire. I found a concentration point of very red angry life essence, and I went to it. It was the activists. This was their base of operations. Wow, there was Rachel, still as stunning as ever. Her essence was very grey, and I didn't like that, so I used some of my essence to try and cheer her up. Her essence turned a happy shade of pink and swirling purple, and I felt myself smiling. I pulled myself back to my body, and walked to the front. Then, I figured I would try something. Since I fed some essence into her, if I used telepathy here, could she hear me? I used my life vision to see how she reacted.
Hey Rachel.
She nearly fell out of her seat and looked around her. Her aura became very confused, and a very odd shade of yellow. She decided to ignore it and went back to her shade of pink and purple.
How's it going?
She didn't seem worried this time. She looked at the guy with blonde hair and around at all the rest of them. When she decided that she was going crazy she walked out towards me. I raced back to my body and pushed out through the door. I raised a peach tree next to the opening and jumped into the branches as it was growing. She stepped outside and I hit a branch, making a peach fall on her head. She looked up puzzled and I fell down behind her in silence.
"Boo" I said quietly behind her.
She turned shrieking and swung her arm at me. I ducked under the blow and she jumped back holding her chest.
"My god, don't do that to me!"
I couldn't stop laughing. "You should've seen your face!"
"That's not funny, now stop it!" She hit my arm and I continued to laugh. She started laughing too and we both took a few minutes to compose ourselves.
"Oh god, that was the best."
"Yeah, yeah, I get it it's fun to laugh at me." Rachel said rolling her brown eyes.
"Hey, it's not that, it was just funny. You reacted so suddenly."
"Yeah, I know. It's instinct."
"Yeah, fight or flight I guess."
"Hey, what are you doing here, anyway?"
"I was just going around town, and figured it would be fun to stop by this old corner store."
"Well, sadly you were mistaken."
"Yeah, I guess so. Great cover by the way."
"Yeah, it apparently fooled you." One of the cranes flapped by and one of the kids ran after it. Rachel stopped and stared at it.
"Yeah, that was me."
"How do you?"
"What do you think life diamond means?"
"Oh, yeah. Right."
"So I've been meaning to ask, why are you in the activists thing?"
"Oh, yeah, well my grandpa was on it before, but before it was trying to keep human beings equal to the diamonds in society. When the diamonds decided it was best to just be their own society it seemed kind of useless, but then Air came around, killing as he liked, so we fought against him."
"Wow. How many?"
"We had an army at that point," she said, knowing already I meant how many dead, "almost ten thousand strong, and almost five thousand died. Now they all want to exterminate the diamonds before they attack again."
"But we're not going to attack again."
"Well, we don't know that, and you guys also saved Air, so."
"We captured him. He's not going to hurt anyone."
"I know you think that, but the fact you won't let anyone see him makes me slightly suspicious, and everyone else seems to think that Air is pulling the strings."
"He's not!"
She shrugged at me.
I sighed. "Alright, come on I'll show you."
"Show me what?"
"What we did with Air."

We made our way to the old base, underneath the old school. I had to remake the stairway with trees growing out of the wall the way down. Rachel slipped a few times, but I caught her before she fell all the way down. I didn't want Rachel to be a pancake, so I made a railing with the branches.
"How do you that?"
"Do what?"
"Make the trees grow out of the walls? How do you do it?"
"Oh, well trees and plants all have like, basically no brain, so their DNA is the only actual goal they have in life, it's just to live, reproduce, die. So, I convince the cells that growing in such a way is the best way to do all of that. It's simple."
"Ah. And then added with the life essence that can make it go much faster, right?"
"That's... Right, yes."
We walked the rest of the way down. We made it to the bottom and I had to stop her.
"I have to warn you, he can't get out because of a field I put up, but if you touch that field you will die, and he will escape."
"Okay, so don't touch the bars. Got it."
"He's also very manipulative, don't trust a word he says."
"Wasn't going to."
"I'm serious, he manipulated Mary into killing three of her friends and then stabbed her in the back the second there was an opening."
"Woah."
"Yeah."
"Okay, I think I'm ready, where is he?"
"Okay, just don't do anything stupid."
I placed my hand on a panel that glowed green. A wall opened up to reveal a gray box.
"Air?"
"For the last time Chris, that's not my-" he turned and stood up. "Rachel?"
Rachel gasped. "A- Andrew?"
