Running

I finally surfaced in an abandoned shop with Eddy beside me. The shop was the same thing I saw earlier that day, and I knew that we were in their old hide out thing. The Human Activists had definitely cleared out by now, I couldn't feel as much of their life essence.
"Chris, why is that thing here?"
"Eddy, I don't know, okay? It's after someone, someone who shouldn't be alive."
"I thought you said because we didn't die of natural causes we could all be revived without nature attacking us again!"
"I know, I know what I said, but don't worry about it."
"Chris if that dream comes true-"
"It won't."
I looked him dead in the eye and he started to back down, color draining from his face.
"I won't let it."
"If you say so. It seems to be attacking you, though."
"More or less, yeah."
"In the dream... you kind of lured it away from us."
I shrugged to him. "Maybe."
He started to piece it together. "Wait Chris, you're not saying it's after you, right?"
I kept walking toward the back, without saying a word.
Rachel was in the back too, trying to help her friend who had gotten stabbed in the stomach. The girl had brown skin that almost matched her brown hair. She would've looked gorgeous, if she wasn't covered in blood.
"You're gonna be okay Gwen, please, just stay still!"
"God damnit Rachel, please stop poking at my stomach with the needle!"
"Gwen, you have got to calm down! Please!"
Andrew and Fred were trying to hold her down but whoever this girl was she was much stronger than them. I held out my hand and it started glowing green.
Gwen saw the green glow and looked towards me and her eyes went wide. "OH SHIT NO!" She shoved all three of them away and rolled off the table with a loud grunt and a thud. She grabbed a scalpel and pointed it at me as she backed away holding her stomach in so she didn't loose any organs. I held both of my hands up.
"Woah, Gwen I'm just trying to help."
"You should've told us all that before you put me in a comma!"
Rachel stepped in between us. "Gwen, please! He helped us get out of there! Away from that thing!"
"That girl with no eyes?"
"What? No the hooded thing." Rachel turned to me. "What is she talking about?"
"I'll explain later, right now she needs help."
"No! Not from you! You're gonna kill me, and finish what you started!"
"I didn't start anything! You're the ones that showed up on my doorstep before that thing attacked!"
"You put us all into a comma!"
"You were about to kill me! Please, just let me help you!!!"
"NO!"
Fred held a gun to her head. "Get back on the table. Now."
She slowly dropped the scalpel and hobbled back on to the table. I pressed my hand to her stomach and her skin healed over and she took a deep breath. She looked down at her healed stomach and looked back at me. She grunted and shoved Fred out of the way. Rachel went after her. She shoved passed Mary as she came back inside.
"I just got done checking perimeter. It's not here. Yet."
"No black fog?"
"Not yet, but that worries me."
"We should hold here for as long as we can. Everyone will leave just as soon as we see the slightest hint that it's anywhere near us, everyone run."
"So we run." Fred said with his head down. "That's our lives now? Running from this thing we don't know what is? How in the hell does that work?"
"Fred, it's the only strategy we have. Maybe I'll find a way to beat it, but currently it can regenerate it's entire body from nothing in seconds. I tried touching it, and I fed as much life essence into it as possible, but it doesn't work!"
"So it can't be killed by you, what if we try and all hit it at once?"
"Nothing any of you did affected it, we need to get everyone away from it so nobody else gets hurt like she did."
"Well, you can take it down, with enough essence, take some from us or something!"
"Fred, no, I'm not going to do that."
"Why not?"
"Because Fred, I could kill you. That's the one thing I'm trying to avoid!"
"I'd love to avoid it too, Chris, but it seems to be our only option."
Mary spoke up. "We could wait and lure in some activists. You could drain those guys."
We all turned to Mary and she shrugged.
"It's not a bad idea."
"It's a very bad idea."
"It would probably work."
"No it wouldn't, I'd kill all the activists."
"That was kind of my point Chris."
"We're not killing activists."
"Why not?"
"Mary, please."
She let out a sigh and walked away. She didn't have the same attitude as I did about killing. I figured self defense against something you can subdue would be to subdue them, and not kill them. She figured if something intended to kill or harm you, it didn't matter. You should harm and kill them back. Fred was almost the same way, but more outward and independent. About then I realized he was gone.
"Oh shit."
"What is it?"
"Andrew, where's Fred?"
"He's-" he turned to his left but didn't see Fred. "Oh shit."
I jumped up and ran outside, but was met by a wall of air.
"Let me talk to him."
"What? No, he'll kill you."
"He needs to take his anger out on something, I'm hoping that he'll get it out on me, and not the activists."
"What? No, I can't let you do that, Andrew please."
"With all due respect you can't stop me and I can stop you."
"Andrew, no!"
Before I could finish he had stepped through the wall of air, closing it behind him without letting me through. I yelled and slammed my fists against the wall of air, but I knew he couldn't hear me. I sat down against the wall and used my life vision to see where he was going.
