Terrence

"What's wrong baby?", my momma asked as we sat down.

"She's leaving me."

"What did you do now?"

"I cheated, I think I can get her back though."

"Ehh I don't think so."

"Why not?"

"I just got a feeling that, this is the end of it. Sorry baby."

"I'm not letting her go."

"You have to."

"No I don't. That's my wife and I love her."

"Then why did you cheat on her?". I opened my mouth but nothing came out.

"Ma a man got needs."

"That is the dumbest shit I ever heard you say. I know if she could have had sex with you she would have. She's sick Terrence. She didn't choose to get sick it just happened. She needed you there with her but you 'needed' to have sex. I'm happy she's leaving you. You don't deserve someone like her. You never have and you never will."

"Ma that's messed up, and she's not sick anymore."

"Really?", she asked smiling.

"Yeah, she's better."

"Oh my God. That's good, that's great. I gotta call her, when I'm done with you. It may seem messed up to you but it's the truth. If it was you she wouldn't have cheated on you, she would have been right there with you. By your side. The entire time. Am I wrong?"

"No.", I said lowly.

"I didn't hear you?"

"No.", I said a little louder.

"Terrence I am so disappointed in you.", she said shaking her head. "I got one question.".

"What?"

"Did you get her pregnant?". I just looked at her. She shook her head. "Wow. Do you know what a condom is?".

"Yes momma."

"Why didn't you use one?"

"It don't feel the same."

"It don't- boy-.". She stopped talking and closed her eyes. "What if she got somethin'?"

"She don't."

"How do you know?". I didn't say anything. "You could be walking around with somethin' Terrence. You need to make an appointment and get checked.".

"Ight.". We talked for a little bit then I left. When I walked out the house I saw Emily pulling up. She got out the car and we just looked at each other. Olivia got out the car and ran to me. We hugged. "Hey baby girl.".

"Hey daddy. Can we get some ice cream?"

"You gotta ask mommy.". She ran to Emily and the talked.

"Bring her back.", she said as Olivia ran to me.

"Okay.". We got in the car and she went to the door.

Emily

"Hey momma."

"Hey baby, I was just about to call you. Terrence told me the good news.", she said as we walked to the living room.

"I was just about to tell you.", I said sitting down.

"He also told me the bad news."

"I was just about to tell you that too. I'm leaving him, I already got the papers."
