Chapter 3

Terrence

Emily been feeling sick these past 2 days, I hope she's not pregnant. We already got a house full. Well we have more than enough space for another child but still. Nathan, Nathan, Jayden, Olivia, Emily and me. That's a house full in my eyes, 6 people. "Daddy play.", Olivia said standing in front of me. Me and Ricky are playing the game.

"Not now baby.", I said looking over her. She sat down and watched us play the game. She went to the game and turned it off. "Olivia!". I didn't mean to yell. She looked at me with watery eyes and her lip quivering then ran out crying. I threw my head back then I put the controller down and followed her cries. She's in her room hiding. "Olivia?". I heard low cries coming from her closet. I opened her closet and turned the light. She's sitting by her shoes with her face in her hands crying. "I'm sorry baby girl.", I said after squatting down in front of her. She stood up and hugged me, I hugged her and rubbed her back. I picked her up and we went back to the game room. She sat on my lap and laid on my chest as we played the game. Eventually she fell asleep sucking her thumb. I hate that she do that shit. I took her thumb out of her mouth and finished playing the game. A few minutes later I heard Emily throwing up. I put Olivia in her bed and went to check on her. She was sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall with her hair in her face. She only had on bra and panties. What the hell? The door closed but he still here. I don't think she know though. "Baby you know Ricky here right?". She shook her head no. She held her hands out and I pulled her up. She started running a cold bath. As the water ran she flushed the toilet and brushed her teeth. She put her hair up. She came and laid on me. He body is hot. I wrapped my arms around her and rubbed her back. I hope she don't get me sick. When the tub was full I let her go and turned it off.

"Can you get me something to put on?", she asked walking to the tub and unhooking her bra.

"Yeah.". I got her something to put on and put it in the bathroom. "Let me know if you need anything.". She shook her head with her eyes closed. I left and finished playing the game.

...

Olivia calling my name woke me up. "Daddy!? Daddy!? Terrence!?". Did this little girl just call me Terrence? She started crying once I made it outside of her room. When she saw me she stopped crying and reached for me. I picked her up and checked to see if she was wet, she is. I changed her then put her down. "Eat eat.".

"Lets go get you something to eat.". She grabbed my hand and we walked to the kitchen. I sat her on the island. "Please don't fall, okay?".

"Okay.", she said smiling.

"Yo' momma gone be on my ass."
...

She danced around as we ate making me laugh. She love food. We talked about God knows what while we ate. "Juice."

"No, water.", I said standing up. She had enough juice today.

"Juice!"

"Water.". Her eyes got watery and her lip started to quiver. "No, don't cry.". She started crying. I got some juice and have it to her. I'm whipped. She drunk some and smiled. She looks just like Emily just with colored eyes. I shook my head and got me some water. "No more juice baby girl.", I said sitting down.

"I love you daddy."

"I love you too."

...

I'm at the hospital with Emily, she got a really high fever. I know the hospital tired of seeing our asses.

...

They said she got the stomach flu, thank God. I mean I don't want her sick but I don't want her pregnant either. She fell asleep as I drove home. When I parked she wouldn't stay up so I carried her in. I changed her clothes then laid her down the right way. I left the room turning the light off and closing the door behind me. I ordered pizza for dinner. Everybody's eating now. "Is momma ok?", Jayden asked.

"Yeah she's alright, she just need to rest.". Jayden shook his head.

"Can I change my major?", Nathan asked.

"What you wanna be now?"

"A gynaecologist.", he said smiling. I just looked at him.

"What's that?", Jayden asked.

"A doctor for women.", Nathan said.

"For, down there?"

"Yeah.", Nathan said.

"Eww why do you wanna do that?"

"I mean, if I can get paid to-"

"Don't.", I said. "You not changin' yo' major. I told you that you wasn't changing again. You changed 3 times. That shit ain't cheap.". He smacked his lips. He wanted to be a doctor then a lawyer and now a therapist.

"Shit.", Olivia said. Jayden started laughing.

"No Olivia, don't say that. That's a nono word, okay?"

"Okay."

"So Jayden, what's up with you and Rita?", Nathan asked smiling.

"We're just friends.", Jayden said annoyed.

"That's bull, I saw yall holdin' hands."

"That don't mean nothin'."

"Yes it do, you like her.", Nathan said grabbing a piece of pizza.

"She's not my type."

"You too young to have a type."

"No I'm not, I'm 12. I know what I like."

"What do you like then?", I asked. He said something really low while looking down.

"What?", Nathan asked. He said it again but we still couldn't hear him.

"We can't hear you Jayden.", I said. "Talk louder.".

"I said.", he said loulder still not looking up. "I like boys.", he said lowly. It got quiet. We just looked at him then at each other.

"Say something.", Nathan mouthed to me.

"Like what?", I mouthed back. He shrugged his shoulders.

"You like boys?", Nathan asked looking at him. He didn't say anything. "Jayden?". We saw a tear hit the table. "Why you cryin'?", Nathan asked trying to look at his face.

"Can I go to my room?", Jayden asked with a crack in his voice.

"Yeah.", I said. He ran out of the dinning room.

"I thought he was straight."

"Me too."

Emily

When I woke up to use the bathroom I heard Jayden crying. When I was done I went to his room. I knocked on the door but he didn't answer it so I opened it and went in. He looked up and ran to me. He wrapped his arms around me and laid on me as he cried. "Baby what's wrong?", I asked rubbing his back. He didn't say anything, he just cried. "Jayden?". Terrence and Nathan walked in. "Where's the kids?".

"Playin'.", Terrence said.

"Yall know why he cryin'?"

"We know why he's crying but we don't know why he's crying.", Terrence said.

"What?", I asked with my face scrunched up. They told me what happened at the table and I slowly shook my head. I thought he liked Rita. "Baby we still love you.".

"Everybody.", Terrence said.

"We not gone talk about you or look at you different if that's what you think.", Nathan said.

"Let me talk to him.", Terrence said. We let each other go then me and Nathan left. I put Olivia in the tub then got her ready for bed, Nathan did the same with Nathan. I put Olivia to sleep then put her in her bed. I took a shower then laid in the dark. On my way to sleep the door opened, it's Terrence.

"Is he okay?"

"Yeah.". He took a shower then came and got in bed with me. I laid close to him and he wrapped his arms around me. We slowly drifted off to sleep.
