Emily

Me and the kids are going back home today. Terrence said he had something for me but he wouldn't tell me what. "Yall ready?", Terrence asked.

"Yeah.", they said.

"Emily?"

"What?"

"You ready?"

"Yeah."

"Are you gonna tell me what is is now?", I asked looking at Terrence. He looked outside of my room door then pulled out a gun.

"Here.", he said trying to give it to me.

"No, why are you giving me this?"

"Protection, take it."

"Don't you need it?"

"You know I got more, take it Emily.". I took it. "Put it somewhere high where Olivia can't get to it but Jayden can.".

"Okay.". I put it in a shoe box in my closet and put it up. When I came out of my closet he was sitting on my bed on my phone.

"You changed yo' password?"

"Yes I did, give me my phone before you lock it.", I said taking my phone.

"I didn't change mine, it's still yo' birthday."

"You want a cookie?". He just looked at me. "I'm for real, I got some Oreos.". He just looked at me.

"No I don't want no damn Oreos."

"Your lost."I said shrugging my shoulders.

"What's for dinner?".

"We're having steak, potatoes and broccoli and cheese. I don't know what you're having for dinner."

"You gone do me like that."

"Just because we fucked don't mean we're a big happy family, it was just sex. Things are still the same. You wasn't shit, you still ain't shit and you ain't ever gone be shit.", I said looking at him.

"That's fucked up."

"But it's true. You cheated on me while I was sick, like, who does that? Nigga's that ain't shit. Y-"

"You really fenna do this again?"

"Do what again?"

"Go off on me over nothin'. Curse me out, tell me how I'm not shit, tell me how I'm a fuck boy. All that shit. Cause if you are I can bounce. I already listened to it once I'm not about to listen to it again Emily."

"Don't nobody need or want you here. Bye."

"You needed me when dude was beatin' yo' ass though.". I didn't say anything. "You wanted me when I was dickin' you down though.".

"Well I don't need or want you anymore."

"Remember that. When Jamal pop back up and start beatin' yo' ass again, don't call me.", he said standing up. "Call the police. I don't expect to hear from you unless it got somethin' to do with my kids.".

"Same for you.", I said as he left. I heard him say bye to the kids then I heard the door close a little loud.

Terrence

Emily be tripping for no reason. We was just cool now she back on that 'you ain't shit' shit. I got a message from a random number telling me that my momma was in the hospital. I called and it was Mrs.White, my momma's next door neighbor. She didn't tell me why she was in the hospital She just told me that she was in the hospital.

When I went in I looked for Mrs.White. "Terrence!", I heard he call. I turned in the direction she called me from and walked to her.

"Is she okay?"

"Terrence I'm sorry, she didn't make it."

"Don't tell me that Mrs.White."

"Come on.". I followed her to where my momma was. She was just laying there. I can't believe I lost my momma.

I went to Ricky's house but he wasn't there and he didn't answer his phone, I went to Denise's house but she wasn't there and she didn't answer her phone, I went to Emily's house and of course she didn't answer the door or her phone. They're the only people I could go to. I guess I'm on my own. I went to the liquor store and got a few things to drink on then I went home. I locked up the house, made sure all the lights were off then sat in the living room and drunk. While I was drinking my phone rung. I honestly don't care who it is. I just wanna be alone and get drunk as fuck.
