Knights Volume 1

Chapter 10 The call to action

Multiple VACC officers are at control area's on a command ship saying things like.

"Boarding craft near the mess hall deck."

"Invading forces in the hanger."

"Starboard guns are down."

"Our shields are taking a hit."

"More boarding craft on their way."

Fleet commander Illyana Stone walks onto the bridge of the command ship asking. "Where is Vandom with our reinforcements?"

A soldier answers. "Lieutenant Vandom is heading for a phaeton on the ground. He should be on his way soon."

*surface*

Markavo, Sirena, Gregor, and Darius hide by a way near the hanger.

"I thought you said the Corruption war was over Nuru." Gregor shouts.

"I haven't been on the field since the fall of the Kibo Clan. So forgive me if I'm not up to date with everything that's going on." Sirena replies.

Darius opens. "I've had years of experience of fighting and we need to be quiet before Az knows we're around that is unless Zane or Vick killed him."

A Shadowcutter dropship lowers down outside the hanger letting out a number of robots that open fire.

"How do we get past those gear heads?" Asks Markavo.

Sirena looks to one side of the hanger noticing a crate of EMP grenades then says. "We need to get to those grenades. The explosion will disable the aircraft so we'll need to get to another hanger and find another phaeton."

Gregor nods saying. "You all get to those bombs. I'll take those robots."

Darius rolls his eye's saying. "Yay murderous robots."

Gregor sprints out into the hanger firing at the droids which open fire. The man fires a shot through the head of one then dropkicks another smashing its head with his foot. He rolls to the side firing shots that destroy several of them. This cycle continues until a shot goes through his shoulder forcing him to drop his pistol.

"FOR THE GUARDIANS!!" He screams punching one of the robots, then veering around and hitting another. A shot goes through his heart killing him instantly.

Sirena, Markavo, and Darius make their way over to the crates. Sirena hands out grenades saying. "These things have a short range. So make sure to aim for the clusters of robots. Make sure Gregor's death wasn't in vain."

The group make their way to another room. The robots follow. Markavo looks to Darius saying. "The fight is back that way."

"Along with thousands of Corruption robots. Fight smart, not hard." Sirena replies.

"We're here." Vicki opens with walking into the room. Darius looks and says. "Vick you guys were supposed to guard."

"We heard the party over here and decided to join." Vicki answers.

Mika nods in agreement saying. "Looks like you could use the help."

*Orbit*

On the bridge of the VACC command ship officers report.

"Invaders have reached cedet courters."

"Stern guns are down."

"Response teams were cut off by boarding craft."

"Invaders are closing in on the armory."

In a hall near the armory a robot knocks on a door ordering. "Open up."

The door opens up with Zven Raza with Michael, Zeke Stallini, and Lucas Dustera.

"You didn't saaay pleeeease." Zven opens as the group opens fire. The robots are soon forced into a full retreat.

A soldier sprints over saying. "Commander Raza, Fleet commander Stone has ordered your group head to the ground and find lieutenant Vandom."

With a nod the group makes their way to a hanger finding a number of destroyed robots and dead VACC agents.

"Talk about a hell of a game." Vicki says.

With a nod Zven replies. "If you think this is bad. You should've been around during the battle of Volcanis."

Vicki smiles saying. "I was, I saved Dusty's life during the war."

Lucas nods saying. "Yeah, if it hadn't been for you Vick, I'd kiss my Egyptian ass goodbye."

The group boards a phaeton and Michael pilots the thing down to LA. As it nears breathable air the side doors open and the group looks out sighting several buildings with smoke. Though few of the buildings have collapsed all together. Others have fallen and are propped on the side of other buildings. Rubble covers the streets, where civilians can be seen trying to take cover.

"Here is the music people, Fleet commander Stone gave us orders to find lieutenant Vandom. But evac teams need help getting civilians out of the city. A group is holed up in Truman High School. The group readies to jump out. The dropship takes a hit.

"WE ARE HIT!! WE MUST FALL BACK!!" Michael screams above the sounds of gunfire. The phaeton crashlands on the outside.

Zven shakes his head. 'Into the action' The thought crosses the zombie mans mind. Vicki pulls Michael from the remains of the control area of the phaeton saying.

"Hannible's hit," Vicki says. "These fights keep getting more intense year after year, Assriel just won't give up."

She rips a rifle off the wall and slings it over her shoulder. Zven draws his battle rifle saying. "First things first, we've gotta get to the school ruins."

The group grabs their perspective weapons, and moves through the city ruins listening to the hellish sounds of warfare. Finally a school building comes into view a dented flag pole, shattered glass, some aspects of the walls missing. Dead bodies, and robots litter the ground outside of the building.

"Think Jenny Handleson, Mindy Heart, and Aurora Vinter are there or the college?" Asks Vicki

Zven raises his rifle as they walk closer to the building saying. "We'll worry about that later. Right now we need to make damn sure there's someone alive inside that building."
