Iris' POV

You promised.

We're all waiting outside of the hospital rooms, waiting for the news about Amber. No one's said it yet, but you can feel everyone thinking it.

She's dead.

Noelle is crying, having Rey hold her.

"She's gonna be alright, okay? I promise." he whispers to her, and she buries her head into his shoulder.

Kian's leaning his head against his arm and nervously tapping his foot.

Scott, sitting in the chair next to me, is staring into space, as if he'd seen a ghost.

"Okay, no matter what happens, we'll stay together, forever. Alright?" Rey says.

"Infinity." I whisper, stroking the arm of my chair.

"What?" Noelle says, lifting her head out of Rey's chest to look at me.

"Infinity. Were infinite." I reply, seeing Noelle's tear stained face. "No matter how far anyone goes or whatever happens, we will always be together. All of us. Me, Scottie, Noelle, Rey, Kian, and Amber." I point to each of them.

You promised.

There it is, the voice, I'm not sure where it came from, it always rings in my head every once in a while. I can't recognize the voice, but it sounds familiar, like a woman's.

"Infinity." Kian whispers, looking up.

A doctor walks out of room 105, and Kian jumps up to him. "How's Amber?"

"We don't know yet." he starts walking, but Kian pulls him back.

"What the hell do you mean? Is she alive?"

"We don't know."

"Aren't you a fucking doctor!?"

"I'm sorry, sir, we don't have the information yet." he said, and quickly walked down the hall.

Kian angrily sits down in his chair, and curses under his breath.

"She'll be alright, and even if she isn't, we'll stay together." Scott gets up and sits next to Kian, patting him on the back.

"I can't do this." he whispers, brushing his hands through his hair.

"What do you mean?" Scott asks him, tilting Kian's head up to look at him.

"She means a lot, okay? I know I've only known her for about a week now, but she was it. I'm a puzzle, missing one piece, and she was it. She solved my problem. Now it feels like someone lost the piece and then destroyed the puzzle. They've torn out my lungs and I can't breathe. My heart's there, but they ripped a hole in it. They've ripped all of my nerves out, for I'm feeling numb. My brain's there but they mixed up the pieces so it's going crazy. I'm going crazy, don't you see? I can't do this, I can't deal with it."

"Over a girl? Come on, they're made to give ya pleasure and then you leave 'em out on the street. You're not supposed to go crazy for them." Scott says, and Kian slaps him, leaving a painful red mark on his face.

"I thought you cared. It's not hard to leave this world, just about anything. The greater thing can cause it, like a girl. They can break you. You could swallow a whole bunch of pills, tie a rope," he made a gun with his fingers and pointed it to his head, "bam! I'm gone. I don't know where it is, but I'm sure it'd be lovely. Even if it ends, nothing happens, I just die, no heaven, and I can't go to hell because I've been living here for quite a while. Maybe I won't feel anything, everything gone. Care free."
