Leah

The colours were dark and blurry. The hooting of nocturnal owls could be heard in the trees above. No moon was shining and even with my semi supernatural eyes, I could hardly see. It didn't stop me though from running through the forest. I wasn't aware of who or what I was running from. Though I was sprinting like a mad hen. Low hanging branches and sharp twigs scrape my arms as I dash through not stopping once.
It was then I realize something was dreadfully wrong.

A part of me was missing.

My beloved humongous stomach was flat. My button was gone.
My running came to an abrupt end. The owls hooting and rushing of water was even louder.

"Button!" I scream out as I stepped out from behind a tree. Tears streaming down my cheeks for my lost child.

"Momma." I tender child like voice answered politely.
Spinning on my heels, a saw a child. A little boy. The tiny tot couldn't be older than six. Dark, rich black hair matted the top of his head. Though he is slender he had fat rosy cheeks.

I moved towards the child but stopped suddenly. The child's unnatural eyes were red, shining with hunger. Blood trickles at the corners of his lips as they quirk. I looked away immediately.

Big mistake.

I gripped my stomach as nausea rips through me. At his feet was a dreadful sight. The lifeless bodies of my family carpeted the forest floor. Charlie was white, his eyes lifeless. My mother - still pregnant - laid beside her husband in the same condition. Seth, my god! Seth's shaggy sandy wolf lay on it's side blood flowing from his neck. Leloopa was on her stomach from what I could see her throat ripped out. Even Emily too was there. Her neck twisted in an unnatural angle and her eyes gorged out.
My stomach emptied itself.

"Momma." The child called again.

This time I look at the child - my child - again. Behind with bloodied lips stood Nikolai. His attention focused purely on the boy.

In a commanding tone he spoke. "Kill her."

The boy smiled, ever so sweetly he spoke. "I love you, momma." Then he lunged.

I sat up swiftly. My heart pounding like the sound of marching elephants feet. Above me was a pair of crimson eyes peering down at me. The concern evident.

"Nightmare again." Nikolai questions.

Knowing it made no sense to hide it, I nodded.

"Do you want to talk about it? "
I shook my head. No.

Sighing. Nikolai climbs in bed beside me, pulling me in his arms. Once I was settled comfortably on his lap, he kisses my forehead. "This is the fourth one in a week, Leah."

Resting my head on his chest, I prayed he didn't mention the others from previous weeks. They started approximately a month ago, each had their own scene however they all were centered around one person. Button.

I'll never allow you to turn evil, Button. I promised my unborn child.

Clutching my stomach, I rubbed it briefly. The baby kicked making me laugh. Grabbing Nikolai's hand, I placed my hand on the area and watch his face brightens. It was like watching the lights came on on a Christmas tree. After Button calmed down, I got up off the bed.
