Theo's POV
Maya left after taking a shower to meet up with Sadie. She was trying to ignore me, but I could tell that she knew I was right. It would have been a little easier and a little less dramatic if I didn't teach at her school... We wouldn't have had to worry about going back and we would have never looked back. But even if we wait til after her graduation, I'll be the one left to deal with everyone. Plus with social media, people would probably ask questions or get the same level of shock.
Maybe David can transfer me to the sister school up north. I could work there and Maya could go to college in the area.
In all honesty it'd be nice to be there at graduation as her husband and not teacher. Take pictures with her, give her roses, and drive home with her. It'd be nice to walk her into Prom too. But maybe I was hoping for too much. Maybe we could just let people know after and I could work somewhere else if it bothered her so much. At a new school she'd just be my wife and no one would care.
