"Shit!" I cuss out loud and shoot up from the bed like a rocket, waking up Dean.
"What's going on?" I would kiss the living hell out of him right now, because of his deep morning voice, but I don't have time.
I untangle myself from the sheets and search for my half ripped pants on the floor of Dean's bedroom, tugging them up my legs. "I have a lecture in less than an hour. And I have to stop at home to change and get my stuff before leaving." I hurry out of the bedroom and enter the bathroom, doing my business quickly. When I come back, I see he's still all groggy while lying in bed. "Come on, you need to drive me, Dean." I tug at his arm, but he only groans.
"Can't you miss this one lecture?" He stretches on the bed.
"No, I can't, so get up, you lazy ass." I pull the covers off him, so he'll at least try to get up.
"Fine, I'm up." I roll my eyes at him still not getting up and get out of the room.
I go put on my shoes by the front door just when Dean emerges from the bedroom, his hair sticking is all possible directions and you can see he's tired just from his lazy moves.
"Can't I first get a kiss?" He asks when he walks over to me. I can't answer, because he grabs my face in his hands and smashes his lips down onto mine.
I wrap my arms around his waist, getting sucked into the kiss. But I suddenly stop kissing him and pull away. "What's behind your back?" I furrow my eyebrows.
Dean sighs lightly and looks away from me. I lift up his black long sleeved shirt and pull a heavy metal object from behind the band of his skinny jeans. "Give that back, Aurora."
My jaw drops as I am looking at the gun in my hand. I feel sick just touching it, so I waste no time in pushing it back into Dean's hands. I take a step back from him and start to put on my coat.
"Why do you have to have that, Dean?" He sighs.
"I never know when I might need it." He explains and starts to put on his shoes. "I always have it with me."
"Always?" I raise my eyebrows. "You had it even when we went out those few times?"
"Yeah, I did." I nod, remembering him shooting back that night everything turned into a horror story for me – the street shooting.
"Can you drive me home now?" I change the topic.
Dean nods and we slowly make our way towards his car, get in and he drives off down the street. I've relaxed during the ride. The paranoia of Dean having a gun has vanished. I understand why he has to have it with him at all times – because of the situations like the street shooting, which I was a part of.
As soon as the car stops, I unfasten my seatbelt. "Wait here." I run out of the car and into the building.
"Wait up, Aurora." Dean calls behind me. I look behind me and see him catching up to me on the stairs.
"I thought you'll wait downstairs."
"No, I'm coming with you." I nod and we hurry up the stairs.
I quickly unlock the apartment and I take off my coat, throwing it on the couch as I run past it and to my bedroom. "I'll be right there!" I call back to Dean from my room and I am taking off my shoes.
Ezra already left for his lectures an hour ago, because his start earlier than mine on Wednesdays. I quickly pull off my jeans and take off my sweater. I replace those with light skinny jeans and a grey long sleeved shirt. I put the black ankle boots on my feet before going to the bathroom. In there, I reapply my makeup, because the previous look was unsatisfying for any living creature.
