I pick up my phone from the nightstand right after I hear it ring. I've got a text from Dean.
Dean: on my way
A smile breaks across my face from the news that he's on his way. That means it gives me a few hours to pack everything. I get out of bed and walk downstairs and into the kitchen, where mom is already cooking lunch. Yeah, I slept in, again.
"Good morning." I greet mom and she does the same, a smile adoring her face.
"Do you know when Dean's coming?" She asks and puts the chicken into the oven along with potatoes.
"Yeah, he just texted me that he left New York." I say and grab a glass of apple juice.
"Good, good," She washes her hands. "I hope he likes vegetable soup, because I'll be making it for dinner."
"Mom?" I call for her after a while.
"Yes?"
"Are you ever going to start dating, again?" I ask, biting my bottom lip.
"Oh, you know I've tried that before and how it turned out."
"Yeah, but don't you want to try again?" I encourage her.
"Nah, I don't think I'm up for that. I like my life how it is." She gives my shoulder a light squeeze before going out of the kitchen.
The next few hours were spent eating lunch around noon and then sitting in front of the TV the entire time. I also took Zeus for a short walk around the neighborhood.
"I'm going over to Janice's house," Mom says from behind me. "I'll be home in two hours the most."
"Bye." I wave at her before she goes out of the house. "Looks like it's just you and me, Zeus." I pet my fluffy friend, who's lying on the carpet.
After a while of just watching pointless TV shows, my eyes begin to close, my eyelids heavy all of a sudden. I close my eyes and start to drift off to sleep. But that doesn't last long due to the sudden knock at the front door. I grunt and get up from the couch, walking over to answer the door. I swing the door open and see Dean.
"Hi." A smile breaks across my face from seeing him. I move out of the way to let him in.
"I would be here sooner, but there was an accident and part of the road was closed." I close the door after him.
I was about to say something but Zeus running towards Dean cuts me off. "Looks like someone missed you quite a lot." I giggle at how excited the dog is. Dean kneels down to pet him.
"At least someone is, eh?" Dean smirks up at me and I playfully roll my eyes at him.
"Mom is at her friend's house, by the way," I walk into the kitchen to grab something to drink. "That's why she hasn't jumped up on you and kissed you already."
"Well, you haven't done that either." He grabs my waist and spins me around. I giggle and press my lips on his.
I trace my fingers down from his shoulders and down his front. All of a sudden, Dean flinches, moving away from me.
"What was that?" I question.
"What? It was nothing." He tries to play dumb, but he isn't fooling me at all.
"Cut that crap, Dean." I cross my arms in front of my chest. "Pull up your shirt." I instruct.
"What?!" He slightly freaks out. "Why should I do that?" I roll my eyes.
