"Luke?" I ask.
"Hm?" he asks groggily as I lie in bed next to him, fully awake with many questions storming in my head.
"What happens if we don't workout and I still have to see you around here with Mikey?" I wonder.
"Just bring another guy around to piss me off and I'll start having him over at my house." He answers.
"Really reassuring." I roll my eyes.
"Did you really wake me up for this?" He groans.
"Sorry for sharing my thoughts." I scoff.
"It's okay." He shifts and puts his arm around me.
"I'm getting up." I stand up grab my robe.
"Why? It's like four in the morning." He whines.
"I'm gonna go for a run. Clear my head." I nod as I grab a sports bra and athletic shorts out of a drawer.

I went to the downstairs bathroom to change. I grabbed my phone and some earbuds before lacing my tennis shoes.

I sprinted down my block before jogging to the neighborhood next to ours. By the time I back tracked my way home, the sun was rising. I walked into the house to see my mother making coffee and Luke sitting at the bar.

"You had me worried sick." He starts.
"I told you I was going for a run, I needed it." I walk over to the fridge and grab a water.
"Can we please address the danger of running when it's dark out? And that attire isn't appropriate." He barks.
"You are more concerned than my own mother about this." I try not to giggle.
"You could have gotten hurt." Luke follows me up to my room.
"I could get hurt doing anything, I could fall down the stairs, I could slip in the shower, I could get injured anywhere. You need to calm down." I groan.
"What if you got hit by a car? Or some sleaze attacked you? And you would have made it easier by wearing that." He ran a hand through his hair.
"Look, none of that happened. I needed to clear my mind, I went for a run. I do that when I'm stressed. You were sleeping, and I couldn't go back to bed. Please stop making this a bigger deal that it needs to be." I sigh.
"Can't you learn to do like jigsaw puzzles downstairs instead of going out and exposing yourself to danger?" He pouts before pulling me closer.
"I think it's sweet that you want to be protective, but I need you relax about certain things. So I do spontaneous running when I get stressed? You don't need to lose sleep over it." I cup his face.
"I will never not worry about you." He rolled his eyes before smiling and kissing my forehead.
"Now go shower, you smell like a puppy dog! Oh, and try not to slip." He winks at me.
"Yes, sir." I bit my lip.
"I like that. Sir. Kinda hot." Luke chuckled before leaving me to shower.

I took a hot one and blushed at the thought of my last shower. I changed into some leggings and a crop top. I blow dried my hair before pinning them into space buns. I wiggled some mascara on and added some highlight.

I walked down to see Luke and my mom having a chat.

"Was that your first fight?" She sipped her coffee.
"We've argued long before we became a couple, and we'll argue as a couple." Luke laughed.
"I'll give you some advice that kept me and Mr.Clifford happily married: Don't let the the problems that could happen become a problem. So, if she could get hurt running, don't make it an issue until she gets hurt. Same goes for you ma'am!" She calls me and I peak out from the stairs.
"Don't worry about you two breaking things up, until you break up." She knew me well.
"I like you two together too much to let y'all argue in my house about stupid stuff like that." My mom smiled at us before returning to her room to get ready for the day.

I turned to Luke to see him staring back at me.
"Your hair looks cute like that." He smiles at me.
I smile back before sitting on his lap, "Thank you."

We ate our breakfast and joked around the rest of the morning.
