"No, I promise you I'm gonna recognise you at the first instant trust me,"

"Really? How?"

Emma's heart beats. It flaps erratically and heaved beneath her chest. She was engraved by nervousness and her pathetic self took control.

The hugs, the greetings, the laughter, everything do not seem to matter to her. All she could think about is seeing Mike, the one she adored for a long time, the one she's been pouring her heart to.

"Oh my God, Kate you look more beautiful," Stella Anderson said as she gave Katherine a tight hug.

"You too Stella, you look as young as then, no change," Katherine replies as they release their selves.

"I'm happy we are back together, in peace and happiness," Anderson said cheerfully.

"Of course, it's a boom and fate too, that we will always be happy no matter, and together we shall cross all hurdles," Williams added with certainty.

"Oh wait, where is Mike?" Kate asked all of a sudden.

"He is outside with Alex, I think they are offloading the luggage," Anderson said.

"He should leave that for Alex and come in here to greet us, we all miss him don't you think?" Johnson suggests.

Throughout their conversations, Emma and Sam just kept quiet at the stairway and listened without a comment. When Kate thought them courtesy, she told them when elders talk, they need no interruption and they are better left to be done.

Emma and Sam were together, but Emma's mind is far away. It's roaming and thinking, waiting for the disappointment that's about to hit her.

"Before you start blaming me, he is the one that insisted on doing the offload with me, guess that's how much he miss me" Alex voiced as he came in with Mike.

"Wow, Mike is now so grown up, come to me son," Kate said to Mike ignoring Alex's tease.

She spread her hands and pulled him in a hug. Williams and Johnson did the same too as they all made lovely comments about how handsome he grew up to be.

Kate called Sam and Emma to greet them and the greeting session went on and on with lots of comments.

No one called names, and they were not specified. Even still, Mike watched Sam and felt his heart melt in joy. That same feeling he felt since they were young, that usual way he smiles when he looks at her. They all came back at once and he found her.

I passed the test, he thought.

He took little steps towards the girls, as he looks straight at Sam with that same adhering look, that same confusion she causes him when he can't understand what's going on in her mind. She have always been his muse, his helplessness.

Emma shot him a glare and instantly, she knew where his heart was, she knew where he was looking at, she knew where he always want to be, Samantha.

Please don't fail me, she begs in her mind.

The promise he made to her couldn't stop echoing, I'll recognise you at first instant, I still know the one I love.

Sam nudged her waist all of a sudden.
