Some achievements comes with a great deal of satisfaction, especially when you've strived so hard and long for it. It comes with joy and self-fufillment more than you could ever think of. Mike couldn't pinpoint what consumes his mind exactly. As much as he really wants to, it just seems weirdly unfathomable.

He should be elated. But he knows so well that what he feels is nothing close to delightfulness. Whatever it is, he can't figure it out.

Mike drove past the quiet street of the estate with a lot of uncanny thoughts roaming his mind. He couldn't deny the fact that Samantha was being all sweet and touchy, it's just how he can't handle it.

What is happening to me? He questioned for the nth time.

Mike took a side look at his phone, thinking of texting Emma. He was so bothered about her, how she's feeling and how she handled Sam's anger. Of course he knows Sam is not an easy person to deal with.

But why is he so worried?

He caused the misunderstanding and he should be guilty about it, and if he can't take full responsibility, then he had to make sure they are on good terms now. He tried to wave the thoughts, but nothing else came to his mind. Except Emma.

"I'm talking to you Mike," Samantha called out, her eyes wide in amazement. She seem not to understand the reason for the sudden change tonight. Mike have always been the jester, especially when it comes to her. He tells funny pick up lines that comes out cheesy and all she does it laugh it off. Since that's what he wants, her smile.

The feeling she got tonight was so unusual. Mike was acting unconcerned, and the way he makes monotonous responses shows that he would rather be somewhere else.

"What's wrong with you? I mean, I don't get it. I've said more than hundred words since we started the ride and you hardly said ten. Is there any problem?" she watched him eagerly, trying not to mind the beat of her heart.

"Nothing." he said with a crooked smile. "Do you know, theoretically, girls talk much more than guys does. I think it's in the ratio of 4:1. So, it might be you trying to reach your daily target," he winked.

"Your brain does a lot to you, you know that?" Sam commented, gaining her composure.

"Not until this moment your honour,"

"Oh stop it," she swatted his shoulder as she chuckled loosely. I got my man back, she thought to herself.

"So you were saying?" Mike asked, trying to ignore how odd he felt with her hand on his shoulder. What type of a girl goes all touchy on a man like that? He thought.

Mike this is not just any type of girl, it's Samantha, he reminded with an ill feeling.

"Where are you taking us to? I want to know,"

Just then, Mike remembered he haven't actually thought of a suitable place for their 'so called' date. It was just in a rush and Sam being a control freak won't take No for an answer, so he had to comply. They were still somewhere around the street and it struck his mind of a new restaurant that just opened the week before.

"Let's try Superb Restaurants," he said, glancing at her. Which makes it the first time he took his time to take in her appearance.

Samantha beamed, trying to be enticing. She planned this well she thought. And in her mind, she hoped the night turned out positive as she'd imagined.

"I never heard of that," she chirped playfully, staring deeply at the effortlessly gorgeous Mike with his white t-shirt and black jacket that complemented it. Just so cute, she admits.
