*Flyer's POV*
"Hello, Flyer. I'm your trainer, Mirah." the lady, Mirah, said.
"Um, hi, Mirah." Flyer didn't know what to say, or if what she said was the correct thing to say. "What's your hybrid?" Flyer asked, embarrassed.
"I'm a gyrfalcon. My ID is 'Falco rusticolus Mirah'."
"What's an ID?" Flyer felt stupid.
"It stands for Identification. It's so that Cortana and her high officials know what animal hybrid you are, and your name. You're going to get a collar too." At this statement, Mirah lifts her head, and Flyer sees a collar around her neck. It's a black collar with blue streaks, and the words "Falco rusticolus Mirah" are on it. "Your friend, Antorn, already has his. The identification is made up of your animal's scientific name and your own name. You'll get your's tomorrow. It's uncomfortable at first, but then you'll get used to it."
"How long have you been a hybrid, Mirah?"
"Let's see. I was the female Chosen the time before Sylas and Akyra. Aedward and Sarina were Chosen the time before yours, so that was 8 years ago. Ysaac and Jexica were 8 years before that, so that's 16 years. Then it's Sylas and Akyra, which makes 24 years. Therefore, I have been a hybrid for 32 years."
"Who are those people you just mentioned?"
"They're my crew. Sylas is Antorn's mentor, so he's been benched. Usually, he's a brawler, along with Akyra and Aedward. Sarina and Ysaac are our scouts, and Jexica is our tech master. I am the leader of this group. The apprentices usually join the same groups as their teachers, so it's highly possible that you and Antorn will be in our group after you finish training."
