"They gave us a freaking dead end!" Mirah spat angrily.
"Hmmm. Maybe not?" Akyra said, "There are some really tiny words hidden in the artwork. Can I have a magnifying glass?" Sarina handed her one. "Uh, it says 'Wings of fire and power, feathered wings turn sky to gold', whatever that means. By the way, what's the name of this book?"
"It's called 'Ancient and Medieval Myths'."
"Oh. That makes more sense. There are some really tiny words hidden here that say 'Flip to page 205'. What's on page 205?" Sarina flips the pages, and they see a majestic drawing of a powerful stallion with beautiful eagle wings spread out around his body, and a halo of light flashing around his head. The inscription reads 'Pegasus. Winged stallion, Greek myth. Son of Poseidon and Medusa. Brother to The Golden One. Father to the pegasi race. Last known whereabouts: the City of San Francisco, the Great Bridge / surrounding areas. Last seen: the year 2344. Magical properties: feathers are a part of the Olympus Serum (see page 255), mane and tail hair as a talisman.'
"What's the Olympus Serum?" Sarina asked, her head cocked to one side in confusion. She flipped the pages, and read the section on the Olympus Serum. 'The Olympus Serum. Improved hybrid serum. Ingredients: Pegasus's feather, a phoenix's feather, 1 shimmering diamond, 1 liter of water, 1/2 pithos of gold dust, 1 small vial of Achilian poison and 1 dragon scale. Instructions: put the liter of water in a pot. Have fire boiling the water the whole time. Drop both feathers into the boiling water. Wait 10 minutes. Add the diamond and dragon scale. Wait another 10 minutes. Blow out the fire and wait for the water to cool completely down. Scatter the gold dust into the mix. Put the mixture into a freezer for 10 hours. After 10 hours, crush mixture in a diamond bowl. When the mixture is turned into a dust-like material, pour the material into the vial of Achilian poison. Wait 2 days, and then the Serum is completed. Effects: allows taker to turn fully animal, fully human, or anywhere in between. all other effects are the same as the original hybrid serum.'
"So... Why did the Snowkillers want us to know about the Olympus Serum?"
