*3rd person POV*
"Yes! I solved the freaking cipher!" Mirah exclaimed, "I found the answer! I gotta show this to the group!" She flys down the hallway to the meeting room. Bursting through the door, she yells "I solved it!" She shows the group in front of her the solved cipher. "Now we need to solve the riddle!" the team groans in disappointment.
"How are you going to give the thing they want, if you haven't even finished solving it yet?" Sarina asked.
"Easy! We'll work on this together, and then we'll get the thing they want, and then give it to them!" Mirah says, happy.
"Easy to say, less easy to do. What if you don't solve it by Friday?" Sylas asked, worried.
"Well, then we improvise. But just in case, you're in charge of making a backup plan!"
*Time skip*
Mirah, Sarina, and Akyra work on the riddle. The riddle says,
What comes from the ash,
but returns to the ash,
at the end of the day.
With smoke wreathing up,
through pain,
glory,
the white smoke continues to hover
over the body turning into ash.
Flying high,
the smoke dips and soars
finally free
only to be pulled back
and trapped into the black ash of its body
waiting for the next time it will be free.
"That's not a riddle! That's a page in a book!" Mirah yelled, mad that she wasted all that time figuring out the cipher. "Look at this!" She shoves a heavy-looking, hardbound book at Akyra and Sarina. Flipping to a specific page, she shows them a full-scale drawing of a bird wreathed in flames. On the opposite page was the same poem that Mirah had deciphered. "They gave us a freaking dead end!"
