Stoick

I looked for my new adopted daughter. I knew that Tames was the only father she knew and accepting his death took a toll on her.

As Thorando and I flew, the blue Thunderdum quickly flew faster as if he had found the Titan Wing Changeling.

"Thorando, slow down, boy!" I cried, scared of falling off the dragon.

That's when I saw the young Rider.

"Ingrid, wait up!" I yelled towards the Dragon Rider and she seems to be in total shock of my appearance.

"S-Stoick?" She stutters.

Ingrid

As I was flying with Sly, I hear someone was calling me. I first thought it was Hiccup. I still couldn't believe what he has told me back home.

Was my father really dead? No, I refuse to believe it. He is probably into hiding mostly because of what has happened in the village.

I turn to the person who was calling me, and with my utter surprise, it wasn't Hiccup himself, but it was no one other than..

"S-Stoick?" I stammered. The Chief of Berk nodded at the confirmation as he and Thorando flew besides me.

"What you doing here?" I asked. "Did Hiccup  sent you?"

He replied, "Don't be so hard on him. You two are kind of a brother and sister figure."

I scoffed, "Yeah, right. He really tried to convince me that my father, Tames, the Chief of Dragon Paradise is dead."

The Chief of Berk said, "It wasn't easy for him though, Ingrid. Tames was kind of father that Hiccup trusted after I banished him from Berk.

When I saw his expression of when he told me and the rest of us about your father's death, he had the same expression on his face when I banished and disown him. It was fear."

I looked at the Chief with total confusion. "Fear? Fear of what?"

"Fear of losing the people he loves. Look, accepting what happen is challenging, but you have to look on the bright side of life. That is what your father wants for you... and Hiccup. "

"Oh.." I said, grasping on Stoick's speech. He was trying to make me understand what must been for him as not just a Chief of his own tribe, but what he regrets of not being the father that Hiccup could've had if he wasn't banished at all.

"Oh, man. I got my anger get controlled of me again. I shouldn't snapped at him. Oh, Thor, what I've done?"

"It's all right, Ingrid. We'll work it out once we settled you in Berk and officially welcomed you into the family." Stoick said, which I was stunned.

"Wait.. you're adopting me? How?" I asked.

Stoick said, "Tames asked me to adopt you. As Chief to another, we can't break a promise. I'll treat you the same respect as he once did."

"Thanks... Father." I said, smiling.

"We should head back to Dragon Paradise. Hiccup's waiting and he's probably worried sick." My new father suggested.

We flew back and I see my father's body in a ship.

"We couldn't have this funeral without you, Ingrid." Hiccup said.

Hiccup

As hard it was for the people of Dragon Paradise of saying goodbye to their old Chief, it was time to let him go.

As I saw my adopted sister and father landed, Ingrid seems to be overwhelmed of seeing the corpse of Tames's body.

The Riders of Berk and my mother were standing behind me as I approached them.

"We couldn't have this funeral without you, Ingrid." I said to her, as I handed her a bow to launch.

"It's not going to be easy of letting him go, Hiccup." Ingrid whispers, only I could hear.

Tears starts to stream in my eyes as I said, "I know, but it's for the best."

All the Berkians and Dragon Paradise pushed the ship towards the ocean.

I said, " May the Valkyries welcome you, and welcome you to Odin's great battlefield.

May they sing your name in love and fury so we can hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla.

And know that you had taken your place in the table of kings.

For a great man was fallen.

He was a Father.

A Warrior.

A Chieftain...

An loyal friend to us all."

Ingrid took all her strength as she puts the arrow towards the flaming ashes and then she unleash the first shot towards Tames's Ship.

I looked at my family as we followed her example to show respect to the fallen Chief.

Astrid asks, "Will Ingrid be ok?"

I looked at my sister. "Ingrid will have some adjustment to not having a father around to support her. She's tough and that's what  I like most about her. I'm glad that my father adopted her."

Astrid

As we gathered in the Great Hall, Hiccup said, "I know that loosing Tames is hard for everyone, especially for those who barely know him. He was kind, generous, a father to me and his own daughter, my new adopted sister, Ingrid Haddock."

Ingrid seems to begin to smile as Hiccup continued his speech, "That is why I want to continue the legacy he had left for us. It's our time to make our own paths, accepting where we came from... no matter what life throws at us."

In that moment, I was actually smiling... for the first time since the year of being away from Hiccup.

He has matured more than any sixteen year old can.

I said, "Things would change for the better, isn't it?"

Hiccup didn't say a word but he grabs me as he pulls me into a kiss in front of the whole tribe.

Stoick laughs, "It seems like the Chief of Dragon Paradise has won our warrior's heart, don't you think, Valka?"

Valka laughs, "It seems so, Stoick, but it seems weird that he has grown up. What we do now?"
