Kenyane looked down in shame. "He was dead because of me. And I am not proud of it. Mother and Father call me a mistake. But I insist I deserve it." Ekilux looked at the boy with dismay. "No one deserves that from their parents! I was disowned by my own father. What about you?" Kenyane rubbed his arm awkwardly,"I ran away. They don't love me. So, I decided that Ruffles and I will prove to them that I should be loved." Ekilux smiled at the dog,"This little one is yours? My he is extraordinary. I'm glad you have someone tolove and who loves you. Here!" He handed Ruffles back to Kenyane. "You have no one, do you?" Ekilux crawled into the corner. "No.. No one at all. And I thought I finally found someone who loved me for once when Ruffles came along. But he most likely just thought I was you." Ekilux held his knees to his chest. "I can love you. You know, as if you were my very own brother. Besides, I need a replacement. My original betrayed me."
Ekilux turned to face Kenyane. "You would do that? But why? Can't you see how I look and how you look? We're not the same at all. We can't be brothers nor friends! I am a shadow and you're a Light. It'll never match up." Kenyane rolled his eyes,"It doesn't matter how we look. Only how we feel by our souls."
Ekilux then questioned him,"How did you kill and why did you kill your grandfather?" Kenyane sat down near the entrance of the cave. Ruffles came to sit on his lap and nudged his arm. In return, Kenyane pet the little dog. "Well, I was just a kid. Sodium was a new thing for me. I had no idea what it was! So I was about to place it in my mouth, but not before grabbing a spoon and scooping it up, but Grandpappy saw me. He leapt to my rescue and instead of me eating it, he did. My family had already hated me, but they hated me even more now." Kenyane cried out to his new friend. "Poor Kenyane. It's not your fault. You didn't mean it! My father hates me because..
