Barry, Iris and I were going to STAR Labs to watch the practical accelerator turn on for the first time tonight. I had dressed up for the event, wearing a yellow day dress to brighten the dark night.
Barry and Iris were bickering about something while we waited for Dr. Wells to come up on stage and greet us.
I couldn't be more excited for the particle accelerator to be turned on. All the new scientific advances that it was going to make was literally going to change our lives for the better.
While waiting for Dr. Wells to come out I surveyed the crowd that had gathered. The protesters that despised the accelerator were being held back by security guards. A large sum of reporters and smarty pants college students and professors were all around us. Out of the crowd I saw a gorgeous woman with long dark brown hair standing next to an older man with crazy wild hair. The woman smiled over at the man with such love in her eyes that it made me smile.

A few minutes later, Dr. Harrison Wells walked up on stage, and began his fancy speech about the future and whatnot.  Our eyes connected for a moment, causing Dr. Wells to stop speaking. It looked like he'd seen a ghost. My thoughts were interrupted when someone shoved me, and rushed past.

"My bag! Barry that has my dissertation in it." Exclaimed Iris.

I took off after Iris and Barry, clutching my own bag to my side.
Barry ran up a head of me as I passed Iris. I had run tracker in my college days. As I was running - in high heels no doubt- I tripped and skidded across the rough concrete. I scrapped up my hands and knees. I tumbled to a stop, right next to Barry. The guy who stole Iris's bag was hoping over the fence in front of us.

"Barry!" she exclaimed as she came up to us.

I groaned as I peeled myself off the ground. Barry was breathing hard, from being punched a few times.

"Anna are you okay?" asked Iris.

"I'm fine. Nothing a bandage couldn't fix." I stated as I looked myself over in the dark. Nothing seemed to be cut up or bleeding.
A cop on the other side of the fence apprehended the man and shoved him in the back of his large SUV.

"We should head to the station." Said Barry.

"Yeah, we should." Iris said as we hurried to my car. I got in the drivers seat as Barry got in shotgun. Iris climbed in the back and buckled her seatbelt.

"Thanks for trying to help Barry get my bag back." She stated once we were on our way.
Here's a little truth: I don't like Iris very much. Don't get me wrong she is a lovely person, but as children she would exclude me from every game she'd play with Barry. Iris West wanted me out of the picture. Now that we're grown ups, we have learned to be civil with each other for Barry's sake, but it didn't mean we had to actually like each other.

Thinking about how Iris treated me as a child, I clenched my fists tightly. I hissed when I squeezed the steering wheel to tight.
"Are you hurt?" Barry asked. I pulled my hand away and saw that it was bloody and dirty. There might have been a rock or two in there.
"Huh. I didn't feel a thing." I stated.
"Let's get you cleaned up." Iris suggested.

We made our way to the CCPD. Barry brought me up to his lab to take care of my scrapped hands, and scuffed knees. While Iris filed a report with the blonde cop that arrested her thief.

"Man. You took quite a fall." Barry said chuckling.
"I didn't feel it." I admitted.
"I guess you're just lucky then." He said as it started to rain.

"I need to grab some disinfectant. I'll be right back." Barry said as he left the lab.

The skylight window that was open, began to let rain into the room. I hoped off the desk I was sitting on, and went to find a way to close the window. I found the chain that was meant to close the skylight but after clamping my bloody hands on the metal, I retracted my hands in pain.
