CLOCK'S RUNNING"You and I are going to have a little fun." Latency's cold voice said from behind me.
She removed her mechanical hand from my living shoulder and spun around, taking in her surroundings.
I followed suit and saw we were in Central City and STAR Labs looked entirely different.
"Where the hell are we?" I asked.
Latency looked at me with a smug expression.
"We are in Central City, just outside STAR Labs." She said matter of factly.I gave her a pointed look and raised an eyebrow at her.
"Welcome to the original timeline. We're in 2020 and STAR Labs is about to open their doors. The particle accelerator is set to launch in..." Latency trailed as she looked at her watch on her prosthetic arm.
"6 hours." Latency finished.
"Whoa. What? No. Explain." I said, not getting her point.
Latency sighed and went on to explain.
"Really? Can't you figure out what's going on?" She questioned."You literally stole me out of my bed bitch. I'm so tired. I just want to sleep." I snapped at her.
"You just called yourself a bitch." Latency smiled.
I huffed and rolled my eyes at her.
"Take me home. I don't want to be here." I told her.
"You can take a nap in 6 hours." She replied.
I was going to snap more at her, but in a moment – faster than I could see – Latency was in front of me with her mechanical hand wrapped around my throat.
"We are going to play a little game. First we're going to see Mommy and Daddy. Then we'll visit a few more friends." Latency stated.
"Absolutely fucking not." I told her.
"You don't have a choice." Latency said, before we moved.
We stood outside this dark green house with white accents. It was cute and had a white picket fence.
"What are we doing here?" I asked her.
"I already told you." Latency stated, as she walked up the stairs.
Before I got the chance to stop her, Latency was already knocking on the front door. I scrambled up the steps and looked at the open window. In a cage was a small yellow canary. It looked like the one that Detective Lance gave Sara when she was younger.
A moment later Laurel opened the door with a large pregnant tummy.
"Can I help you?" Laurel asked.
"We're just passing through the neighborhood and we hoping you could give us directions to the hospital." I asked nicely.
"Oh." Laurel said, looking from me to Latency.
"She won't hurt you. I promise." I vouched for Latency.
Latency smiled sweetly at Laurel.
"You head out to the highway, then you pass STAR Labs and you end up about 10 minutes away from Central City General." Laurel said.
"Thank you so much." I said, before grabbing Latency's robot arm and dragging her away from Laurel."What the hell?" I asked her.
"You could have this apple pie life. But instead you want to stay a superhero. Why?" Latency asked.
"I like helping people. Being a superhero is who I am." I told her.
"No you're not." Latency said"What is the point in all of this? I don't need to take a stroll down memory lane with myself. I have problems back in my time that need my attention." I snapped at her.
