Chapter 41

January 15

"Jinsu didn't do this, there's no way he could of killed all those people. She said that we knew this person and that he must have had a police gun. Today, is the 15th, so that means that he is planning on making another attack tonight." On the back of the autopsy is a map. 

"This must be where the murders take place, where the rest of the bodies are. We have to go there," he says. They follow the map to the school. It leads them to the woods behind the school. They walk until they find the door to the hidden underground bunker. Justin opens it up.

There are stairs going down under the ground. It is dark and quiet. He takes out his phone and guides them with the light. The bunker is huge. It is filed with jail-like bars. 

"This must be where they keep victims." They hear a noise coming from behind them. They hide in a corner and watch as Ashley walks out. 

"I know you're here, it's time for me to tell you the truth," she calls out. Justin steps out and Ashley takes them over to the back of the bunker. She takes a seat on the ground.

 "It all started when I was a freshman. Vanessa and I were desperate for money and popularity. That's when we were presented an opportunity by him. He offered to pay us if we helped cover up his crimes. So we made a deal."

She pulls up her sleeve and shows her tattoo. "When we joined, he made us make an oath. We had to swore to never rat each other out and that if we did we would be removed. I guess you could call it a illuminati. There was another girl who joined with us, Rachel. She couldn't do it anymore. She told him that she was going to leave the group but would keep his secret safe. But that's the thing about an illuminati, you don't leave the group. So he killed her. We have to do whatever he commands us to do or he will kill us. Each month, he chooses a new victim. And in November, he just happened to choose Selena."

"The night of the 15th, Vanessa and I got Selena alone where we took her here. He likes to drag out his victims' deaths. He'll keep them here for several weeks, abusing them and raping them. I begged him to not kill Selena so he did something beyond humanity. He made me kill her. He threatened my family and my own life." Tears fall from Ashley's eyes. "I have not been able to sleep, eat or do anything since I pulled the trigger. I will never get over this guilt in my gut. I hate him for making me kill my best friend. And most of all, I hate myself."

"Ashley?!? Are you here?" a voice shouts. 

"I should get going," Ashley says as she gets up. 

"Wait, who is the guy in charge of this?" Justin asks her. 

"You'll find out soon enough," she says before she leaves. Justin and Caitlin hear voices as Ashley disappears. They wait there for hours. They finally hear footsteps and screams. Justin peaks his head around to see a tall figure with his arms around a girl. The guy has a ski mask over his face. He has his hand over the girl's mouth. The girl has tears running down her cheek. They watch as the guy throws the girl into a cell. The guy goes over to somewhere else.

Justin crawls over to the cell with the girl inside and opens it. 

"H-how'd you know?" she whispers to him.

 "Run," he whispers to her. She nods and runs out. Justin turns around to see the guy with the ski mask. 

"What are you doing here?" the voice asks. The voice sounds familiar to Justin but he can't tell who it's from. 

"I know you killed Selena and I'm not letting you hurt another girl again," Justin states. The guy laughs. 

"You really think that you can just come here and face a cereal killer with no weapon?"
