Jake's POV

Nicky pulls away slowly. Man, how can one person be so cute?

"You ready to go get that ice cream?" she asked, looking out the window.

"Yeah. Let's go." She smiles again. She's so pretty when she smiles, but then again, all girls are pretty when they smile. We walk down the stairs to see her now ex-boyfriend. What a dick. I'm pulled out of my thoughts when she pokes my side.

"Ah! Really? How old are you? Eight?" She laughed but kept poking me. I ruffle her blue hair. "You act like a two year old," I say, holding her shoulders.

"I thought I was eight."

I laugh at her and continued walking to the door. I get on my motorcycle and toss Nicky my helmet. She climbed on the back, and wrapped her arms around my waist. As I start driving, I hear her softly singing. I try to listen to her, but the wind is too strong. Damn, I really like hearing her sing.

I'm surprised she apologized to me. I was being an ass and I don't deserve to have her. That Irish guy didn't deserve her either. He doesn't even deserve Maya, even though she hates me. I know why she does.

I regret cheating on Nicky, but I'm happy she's kind enough to forgive me. I still feel like I love her. I don't say that word very much anymore. People say love so often that it started to lose it's meaning.

I adore Nicky. That's what it is. We arrived at the ice cream place and wait for her to make up her mind.

"Can I have a small chocolate chip cookie dough?"

How does she like that stuff? It's kind of gross.

"I'll have a medium chocolate, please."

She shakes her head since I always get the same thing. We get our cones and sit down in the back. "So have you gotten out of your room before I came to get you?" I ask, already knowing the answer.

"Kinda," she answers.

She's so weird, but in a good way.

Nicky's POV

I'm surprised that Jake was willing to pay for my ice cream. He's a nice guy, but he usually wants to split the check. Is this a way of being romantic? It's sweet of him, though.

He smiles at me from across the table, it's not a smirk but an actual smile. I smile back. I guess to any other person, it would look like two emo people on a date, but little do they know it's just two friends.

"What are you thinking about?" Jake asks.

"Just thinking that any other person would think we are on a date." My eyes go wide as he laughs. "I guess it does, huh?"

I shouldn't have said that. He smiles at me without another word. Oh God, I shouldn't have brought up dating. Oh well, it already happened.

He continues to eat his ice cream. He smiled at me once again. What was he thinking about? "What are you smiling at?" I asked, shaking my head. "Just thinking how lucky I am to have you as a friend."

Thank God he didn't take the "date" thing to heart. We finished our ice cream in silence, then walked back to his motorcycle. He dropped me off at my house, and like a good boy he didn't kiss me bye.

Tyler's car is still here, great. Maya and Tyler are of course on the couch. It still pisses me off to see him. I even knew he was using me. I think it was the fact that I started thinking he cared about me.

"Hey Nicky!" Maya yelled, making sure I stayed in the room.

"Hi."

She smiles brightly and lets go of Tyler's hand. "Come watch TV with us!"

I shake my head and look at Tyler. "That's not a good idea, Maya." Her smile drops and she looks angry. "Nicky, stop. You said you weren't mad at me." Her blue eyes got darker, as they do when she gets pissed off.

"I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at Tyler." Tyler looks down with a sad face, but I don't care. He deserves to feel sad.

"Nicky! Stop being such a bitch!"

I balled my hands into fists. She has no reason to call me a bitch. I look at the clock and see that it is eight thirty. Okay, pretty late.

"Maya, if you are going to act this way, I'm leaving!" I angrily slam the door, pulling out my phone as I sit on the curb.

Chad is out with his lover of the week. I don't want to bug Jake again. The only other person that isn't busy is Blake. Our relationship isn't that bad, he's still a dick but he's all I have right now.

Me: can you pick me up please?

Blake: sure?

I waited for a while then his car pulled up. I quietly got into the car with a small smile. "Thanks for picking me up," is all i can say. He laughs and then looks at me. "Don't worry. Where do you want to go?" he asked.

I don't really want to go anywhere, just away. "Is it okay if we just go to your place?"

He smirked but agreed. He turned up the music so it wouldn't be as awkward. We pulled up to the small house, and walked inside. "Want to watch a movie?" he asked as we walked inside.

I nodded as he showed me to the living room. "What kind of movies do you like?" he asked, looking through the movies on a self.

"I love horror movies."

He smiled and put a DVD in the player. The title screen to It flashed across the screen. I, of course, smiled because It is my favorite movie. We watched the movie in silence.

I yawned as my eyes grew heavy. I felt myself fall asleep, then I heard a small chuckle. I laid my head down in what I'm guessing was Blake's lap and fell asleep. Today was a shitty day, but now I feel a lot safer.
