CLARY

It's been a week since I told Jace that I was pregnant and about Sebastian's threats, he's stayed by my side the whole time and he understood that we have to keep our relationship a secret. Yes we're back together and despite the situation I'm in, I couldn't be happier. My mom and Luke went up to the lake house around the time Jace and I got back and Jace has stayed with me the whole time, everyone at school thinks I've went to the lake house as well so it was the perfect cover up. Jace didn't want to tell Maryse and Robert where he was so he told them he was going camping with Julian, also I have an appointment to see a doctor next week about the abortion. As much as I hate them, I hate the fact that I got pregnant out of my own free will. Since Jace had promised he'd never leave my side, he's coming with me which has made me a little more comfortable.

I haven't taken any pills either and I feel much healthier. The nightmares stopped but I have a feeling it's because Jace is always next to me, he's been so supportive and I can't stop thinking, what if one day I was pregnant with his child? I'd be so overwhelmed with happiness, but right now that's only a dream.

"Okay so we have another week until your mom comes back, which means." He paused for a moment as he walked over to me with my red owl printed blanket and hot chocolate. "One more week of putting up with me."
"I think I've handled putting up with you quite well." I say, taking the hot chocolate from his hands as he sat next to me, placing the blanket over us both. "You do know, you can say you came back from your trip early and go home when you want, right?" I continued. He gave me a hurtful look, but I'd known him long enough to know it was just for show. "Go home instead of staying here and looking after my gorgeous girl? Come on, babe." He said with his familiar smile. I placed my hot chocolate on the coffee table after taking a few sips as the film began playing and cuddled up to him.

"What's this?" He asked curiously.
"The Notebook." I said smiling, wondering if he knew.
"You've got to be kidding me, again?" He said, emphasising 'again' showing he couldn't believe it. I laughed quietly and looked up at his stunning features. "It's a good movie." I said reaching up to peck his lips as the first scene started to play. Towards the end of the film, my phone started ringing. It was my mom.

"Hello."
"Clary, where are you?" She sounded terrified and I could hardly make out a word she was saying.
"I'm at home, why?"
"It's Luke, we were coming back early and he's been injured, I've called an ambulance and they're on their way, could you grab some things for us and take them to the hospital. I'll meet you there."
"Okay, sure." And the call ended. Jace looked confused and I quickly filled him in as we ran upstairs to get things my mom would need if she were to be staying with Luke at the hospital, it sounded serious. I grabbed a coat and Jace and I drove to the hospital. We arrived and was waiting for about 15 minutes before an ambulance came in with sirens on. The back doors swung open and Luke was being pulled out, lying on the bed. He had an oxygen mask on, one of the paramedics kept squeezing it, he had a white sheet over his torso, but it wasn't all white. There was blood stains all over it. Luke's blood.

I could feel myself starting to fall and felt arms around me, holding me up. My mom came rushing towards us as Luke was taken inside.
"What happened!" I shouted, asking my mother with tears falling.
"I don't know, come inside." She replied, leading the way. Jace still holding me up. We were taken into the waiting room, wondering what happened. More tears were now falling down my face, more than my mothers. I noticed her looking over, watching Jace comfort me, my head in his chest, the sound of his heartbeat soothing me slightly to sleep, as I soon did.

I woke with my head on Jace's lap and I could feel his hand playing with my hair. I sat up to see we were the only ones in the waiting room now.
"Hey gorgeous." He said with a warm smile.
"Hey, where's my mom?" I said, looking around the room. She was definitely not here.
"She went to see Luke, they found out what happened." My heart started racing, it almost felt like it was going to beat out of my chest. "Is he okay? Where is he?"
"He's fine." Jace said soothingly. "He's awake and the doctors said he's lucky to be alive."
I felt a flush of relief sweep over me, Jace led me to the room where Luke was and I saw my mother sitting in the chair by his side.
