Chapter 10 - July 4th

"Hey babe." Jace whispered quietly leaning over Clary, Clary's eyes fluttered open to see him fully dressed and a smile printed across his face. She could smell the sweet scent of aftershave on him and it brought a smile to her face.
"Clary?" Jace whispered again, still leaning over her. "I need to go to practice, coach says there's a big game coming up and we need to be ready for it and it can determine our future for colleges and stuff."
Clary sat herself up forgetting that she didn't have any clothes on and noticed Jace looking distracted.
"I wish you didn't need to go so early." Clary pouted.
"I uh-um I-I." Jace stuttered.
"What? Are you stuttering?" Clary asked teasingly, she noticed why he was so distracted and was now sitting on her knees in front of him. Her hands pushed his jacket off as his eyes kept searching her body over and over again, Clary got closer as Jace's hands gradually placed themselves on Clary waist.

"I'm sure coach won't mind me being 5 minutes late." He said as he positioned himself on top of Clary and trailed kisses from her neck to her stomach until Jace's room door swung open.
"Jace, Alec wants you." said a innocent voice from the door way. Jace quickly covered Clary as she hid under the covers away from unwanted eyes, Jace sighed and walked out the room with young Max giggling to themselves. Alec was found at the bottom of the stairs with both his and Jace's training bags.

"Trying to stay behind were you?" Alec teased. Jace rolled his eyes and picked up his bag before opening the door and heading out with Alec a few steps back. After almost 2 hours of training, the coach finally called it a day and let everyone go home, Sebastian had exchanged looks every once and a while towards Jace but Jace thought nothing of it as he just took it as a sign that he was jealous that he couldn't have Clary.

By the time Jace and Alec arrived back home, the girls were in the kitchen with Simon and Magnus cooking. Izzy was sitting on the counter making out with Simon while Clary and Magnus were making cakes for the 4th of July.
"Izzy, get a room." Jace said, Izzy rolled her eyes and dragged Simon upstairs and out of sight. While Clary was mixing the blue icing, Jace's hands snaked her waist and he rested his chin on her shoulder.

"I take it Izzy's decided that we're having a party for the 4th of July?" Alec asked reaching to be productive and help with the baking.
"Knowing Izzy she's probably invited the whole school." Jace joked.
"Oh no surly she's invited more than our school, maybe even college guys." Said Clary.
"Uh why college guys?" Jace asked jealously.
"Well no doubt there's going to be tons of horny high school girls grabbing your attention and having college girls here too, I can't have that."
Jace whispered in Clary's ear, making sure only she heard it. "All my attention is only going to be on one horny high school girl."

"Okay you two out now, Magnus and I will finish off. Jace you really need to learn how to whisper because I heard that from here, now shoo." Alec said waving in his hands and arms around to shoo them off. Jace and Clary just laughed and disappeared upstairs into Jace's room, the door got locked and giggles started to emerge from them both. Clary's hands slipped under Jace's shirt, gently and slowly pulling it over his head as he positioned himself over her body onto the bed. Clothes were removed and placed somewhere far away from them as giggles were still emerging, trying to keep as quiet as possible.

The 4th of July finally arrived and with Lightwood luck, Maryse and Robert were away for work as always when something big was happening. Izzy had invited the whole senior year considering the Lightwood house was big enough to hold that many people and to no surprise, unwanted guests also turned up. The party had been going on for almost two hours, there we're people playing 7 minutes in heaven, people playing never have I ever, people playing spin the bottle and of course people in the pool. Jace had stuck to Clary's side since he noticed Sebastian walk in with two others by his side looking mischievous and unpredictable. The main bedrooms were locked to avoid people going into them and so was the music room, Max had been locked in Jace's room playing Jace's Xbox and was given snacks to take up before the party started, every now and then someone would check on him and it was now Jace's turn to. Clary found Izzy with Simon, Alec and Magnus in the living room playing never have I ever, Clary saw no harm in joining in but it turned out to be a very bad idea.
