Sydney's POV
I could feel tears forming and falling from my cheeks. Same with Kate, except you could see the fear in her eyes. In my eyes, you can't really see it. I can hide it really well.
Anyway, the name of the girl that was being eaten next door was Melissa. We were friends for 7 years. We did a lot together. I just... can't believe she's gone. Now, she's going to turn into one of those things.
Then, a light bulb went off in my head. Walkers. That sort of explains a lot of things, I guess?
"I, uh, I think I know what's going on," I blurted out which made my family give their attention to me.
"Really?" Arabella asked, a bit of hope left in her eyes.
"I said I think Arabella. Don't get your hopes up," I sighed, in a bossy kind of tone.
"Hey. Don't be mean," My mother said.
"I wasn't," I rolled my eyes. "Anyways," I took a deep breath so I wouldn't faint and continued, "Walkers."
"Seriously?" Rebecca scoffed, "Walkers? They're fake! They only happen in movies!"
"They are man-eating creatures. Either humans that went psychotic or the same dead corpses from the movies."
I just can't believe that this is happening in real life. We see this kind of stuff on TV, not in real life!
I began to worry. What about my family, friends, school? I didn't know what to think. All my thoughts were disturbed by sudden knocks and screams at our front door.
