Daniella's POV

I busted into tears. Seconds after that, my best friends were by my side.

"It's okay. We're here now. We have a group, you can join," Janae said, comforting me.

"My parents died in front of me. They died in front of me. Getting eatin' alive. They told me to run. So I did," I choked out. "I did nothing to save them while they dying. If I did something, they could be alive right now," I cried harder.

"This isn't your fault, you hear me? It's not your fault," Sydney said, smiling at me.

Daniella's Flashback

We ran out of gas. My parents and I were walking.

"Herd," I whispered to them, while they looked behind them, and me, in response.

"It's okay. Let's climb a tree," My mother suggested.

"What if we get surrounded?" I questioned.

"We'll wait them out," My father answered.

"Okay," I sighed. "Let's g-AHHH!" My mother screamed as my mom was bitten on the shoulder, arm, leg, basically everywhere. There were about 20 walkers eating her.

"Diane!" My father called.

"Mom!" I called out.

My father started running to the walkers biting and ripping the skin off my mom.

"Dad! Don't!" I called out, but before my words could reach his ears, the walkers' bloodshot eyes turned to my dad. They stood up, and before my dad could escape, walkers grabbed his ankle and bit it. He screamed in agony. The walkers started eating him.

"D-Daniella! Run! We love you s-so much!" My dad yelled in between screams.

Then, I started running. Running as fast my legs could carry me and as far away as my lungs would allow me too.

Daniella's Flashback Over

Daniella's POV

"I'm so sorry Dani. You don't deserve this," Sydney said, voice cracking.

"No one does," I sniffled.

"They're in a better place," I said to her, standing up and wiping tears off my round cheeks. She just nodded for a response.
