We headed back to the apartment after Mark introduced me to his friends. I think he might have caught on to me a little with the whole mind thing. But I couldn't just let him read my mind. He couldn't find out about anything. Not yet at least, if I was to tell him at all. Which I wont.

"When does school start anyways?" I asked after a long silence between us.

"We start tomorrow," He responded blandly. What was up with him? It made me frown and look to my feet as we walked.

"I don't know if I'm ready....." I trailed off as I became timid. I never really liked schools all that well. They terrified me. And now I have to actually be in one for a while. I don't know if I can handle it.

"I'm sure you will do fine, don't worry about it," he tried to reassure me but it didn't really work. I need to change the subject.

"What do we do now?" I asked as I headed towards my room, since he seemed to be going to his.

"We'll I have to meet with someone, so you can do whatever you want" he answered.

"What? No tour of the city?" I asked sarcastically. I would of thought he'd at least show me my way around a little.

"Good to see you're finally opening up; but not today, maybe another time" he answered with, shock? Was he surprised I had humour or something?

"Alright......" I said with a tiny hint of sincere sadness in my voice. I actually really want to have a look around. I want to see where the coffee shop is.

"Be good," he said as he stopped outside his room, turning to face me.

"I'm not a dog Mark," I pouted.

He let out a tiny chuckle before teleporting away. Why did he walk all the way over to his room just to teleport away anyway? What a waste of effort. Eh, his loss.

I risked opening my mind to search the apartment to see if he was still here before shadow jumping to my room. I telekinetically opened my laptop and quickly typed in a message to Cry and sent it. I got a response a few seconds later and smiled.

I opened a portal into my room to allow Felix and Cry to come through. Cry lay down a device that prevented anyone from listening to our conversation or sensing our presence. Once it was all set up Felix turned to me with a serious expression.

"He suspects you have more powers than just flight Jack. Why did you try to use that excuse when you knew he had came across your barrier?" He asked with slight anger.

"Because if I had given away too many of my powers he might be able to link it up with the real me. His group has been trying to find us for a while. I don't think we want him figuring that out now do we?" I shot back. He looked at me grim.

"If you mess this up," he threatened.

"Have I ever messed anything up?" I asked a little quieter. He looked at me silently for a moment before looking at Cry. Cry was wearing his mask but I could tell Felix could see right through it.

"We discovered something that might be able to help you out more without being detected. We stumbled across it by accident but it works really well. It will mean you won't have to worry about any power blockers while in the school. There is a class that will try to prevent you from using your powers but this should help," Felix said as he held up what looked like a nano chip between his fingers.

"Injection?" I asked with angst. I hate getting injections but they're required for a lot of things these days. Felix nodded and held up another device Cry had made. It was similar to a staple gun but it was used for this sort of thing.

Felix pressed it against the skin of my wrist after fitting the nano chip and gave me a questioning look. I nodded and he pressed down on the trigger button. I felt a sharp pain in my wrist then a burning sensation. The pain seemed to last longer than usual and as Felix pulled the device away I saw the pinprick it had made.

It was all red but the pain was subsiding. I rubbed it to help sooth the pain before looking back at Felix and nodding. I can be such a baby at times. I can take a punch in the face without any pain but I can't take a small pinprick of a needle. Yeah, that's me alright.

"We need to go before someone comes back but you better lay low and don't get caught or else," Felix threatened. I waved him off and smiled.

"I'll be fine okay. My first priority however is finding Starbucks. I need a cup of coffee," I said as Cry removed his device and stepped back through the portal I'd made. Felix rolled his eyes at me before also vanishing into the swirling black void. I dropped the portal and quickly grabbed a jacket before running out of the apartment, locking it behind me.

I knew I couldn't shadow jump or people would see me and suspect me, since I'm the only one who can use shadow magic with ease. So I settled for a walk instead. I pulled out my phone, yes evil spy assassin's have them, and searched where Starbucks could be. I found one nearby and headed there immediately. I need my coffeeeeeeee.

I stepped out of the cold evening air and into the warm coffee scented shop. There wasn't too many people in here, since people usually would have coffee in the morning, so I didn't have to wait in line too long.

I ordered a straight black coffee (another fact about me. I don't drink coffee so idk what coffees there are). I took my steaming hot cup and sat at a table alone. I sat silently, taking in the scent for a moment before taking a sip of the hot liquid. I love having these moments where I forget I'm a killer and just enjoy life.

So yeah... coffee anyone? You can get me hot chocolate instead XD
