First day of class and I can't even get out of bed. I hate mornings so much. But, I need to get up. I can't be late on the first day of school now can I?
"Jaaack! Get up or you're gonna be late," Mark shouted from outside my door. You think I didn't know that bitch? Ahhg. I should probably get up shouldn't I? Yeah, let's get up.
I kicked my blankets off and sat up, sudden chills running down my body from the lack of warm blankets on me. I let out a shiver and stood up, heading over to my dresser. I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans and a long sleeve shirt. I picked up my hoodie, which I had left on the floor near my bed, and left my room.
I walked into the kitchen to see a note on the fridge. Love letters aye. I guess I'm just too irresistible. What could it say I wonder? You have amazing blue eyes? Stylish green hair? You are extremely full of yourself Jack. Yeah, probably that one.
I shook away my tiredness and read the note. It pretty much said that Mark had already left and to have whatever I want yadda yadda yadda. Where's the coffee? I need coffee. Oh yeah, Mark doesn't have coffee now does he. He apparently used the last he had just before I arrived. I need to get more. But why buy coffee when you can make some appear out of thin air?
I 'teleported', if you'd prefer, a hot cup of coffee. Where from? I don't know. Somewhere a cup of coffee had been made. But you see, it's a duplicate so no one knows I took it. Shadow magic is the best power. I should shut up and drink it and stop talking to myself.
I took a long sip of the steaming coffee and allowed the caffeine to kick in. Once the entire cup was downed I began to feel more awake and didn't feel like talking to myself as much. But then the thought of school made a wave of anxiety wash over me. No backing out now.
Mark said I didn't need anything for school since it was just them teaching us about our powers and learning how to fight villains and all that. Other classes where you learn normal things will be next week. They rotate between the two so there's a break in between different classes and such.
Cry had given me some pills that will help dull down my abilities so I wont have to act so much but it also makes it seem more realistic. You know, sweating more, increased heart rate, heavy breathing. That sort of thing. I still knew how to fight and can easily erase the affects if needed.
I quickly left the apartment before I could chicken out and hurried towards the school. Since Mark had shown where my first class would be it wasn't too hard to find it but the affects of the pills were already beginning to kick in and I found it a little tiring just getting to the class. I should ask Cry about that.
I walked inside and felt all eyes turn to me. Class hadn't started yet and not everyone had arrived but those that were there were all looking at me. I ignored their looks as the teacher approached me and looked me up and down.
"Are you Jack?" He asked. I nodded shyly and showed him my timetable to prove it was me. He nodded and pointed to a seat next to a guy who was sketching. I silently walked over and sat next to him. I felt people still looking at me and decided to do something to make it seem like I wasn't a mute introvert.
I looked over at the guy next to me and saw him drawing little figures with block shaped heads. He was really good at it and the art looked really good. I could sense someone watching me but kept it as a precaution since anyone in this room could be looking at me right now.
"What are you drawing?" I asked with curiosity. He looked up and smiled at me.
"Just random people. I'm trying to figure out a character for an animation I'm making. It helps me pass the time and take my mind of things," He said in an accent that was no doubt Swedish.
"Cool, I'm Jack by the way," I said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you Jack, I'm Robin," the man introduced himself. I smiled but our conversation was cut short by the bell. Everyone looked at the teacher as he began to write something on the board.
"Today we are going to practice how to use your powers. I know a lot of you don't know what powers you have or barely know how to use them so I'm here to help you and teach you how to use them," the teacher began. He looked around the class before his eyes fell on me and Robin.
"You two, up here please," he asked. Well, there goes hiding from every one. Me and Robin stood up and walked to the front of the class. The teacher moved us so we were facing eachother before stepping back.
"Now Robin, what powers do you have," The teacher asked, facing Robin.
"I only know I can manipulate plants," Robin said timidly. The teacher nodded and turned to me.
"And you?" He asked.
"Ahh, I-I c-can fly. B-but not really well," I said, my anxiety starting to eat away at me. I've never felt this afraid to stand in front of people since... since villain school. But I'm better than that now. I over came that fear. Right?
"Hmm, okay. Let me show you one trick that will help unlock your powers," He said as he grabbed something from his desk. I only just saw a glint of a knife before he swung his arm and the object came flying towards me. But I didn't use my powers.
And he was impaled by the knife. Hehe
