As Link reached the entrance to the castle, two guards stopped him.

"State your business." One guard said.

"Oh, I have come to see the princess." Link said casually. Please let me pass... Please let me pass...

"Not just anyone can come in and see the princess. She is currently busy trying to repair the kingdom. Do you have a specific appointment?" The other guard asked.

Well, no. I don't. Maybe if I tell them who I am...

"Well, I don't have an appointment, but me and Zelda are old friends. My name is Link if it helps." Link added.

The guards looked at each other for a moment.

"We will ask the princess if she would like to see you. Please follow me. The first guard said.
He then opened the large door, and led Link into the large courtyard.

So many memories here... Where my journey ended... It's funny, It was only about a week ago that I risked everything I had here...

The guard led him to the large door that lead into to large building. He opened the door, and nodded to the other guards there. They nodded back, and resumed watching over the door. They traveled through many rooms, and they soon reached the large throne room.

"Wait here while I speak to her majesty." The guard commanded.

Link stood and waited for a little while. Why wouldn't she want to talk to me? She doesn't have anyone who experienced the same grief she did, besides me. I saved her kingdom, can't she spare just a moment?

The guard returned, and he motioned for Link to come forward. "The princess has agreed to speak with you. I suggest not talking for too long, she has lots to do." He said.

Link followed the guard through the center isle. At the end, he saw Princess Zelda, sitting upon her throne, which has been half fixed from the previous battle that took place here.

With every step he took, memories of the last time he stepped foot in the throne room rushed back to him. This is where I first met him... Ganondarf. It seems like such a long time ago... After all the fighting, we thought we won..... We didn't.... He came back, and Midna thought she could defeat him. She risked everything she had, to save Hyrule. To save me.... She took me and Zelda to safety, and used all of her power to try to end him for good... He was too strong. He returned to the battle field... Holding her fused shadow like a trophy.... I couldn't describe what I was feeling just then... I thought she was dead...

They reached the throne, and the guard bowed. Link almost forgot she was royalty for a moment. Last time he was with her, he didn't really have the time for all the fancy things. He bowed quickly and looked up.

"Hello Link. You are free to go guard." Zelda says with a nod.

"Yes your majesty." He says with a quick bow as he walks away.

"Hello again Princess." Link responds.

"Now, what brings you back to the castle. I would assume you wouldn't come here just to visit, this place holds many painful memories." Zelda asks.

"I actually can here to ask a favor of you." Link said looking down a bit.

"A favor? Well, what is it that you need. I am in your debt for saving Hyrule, so anything you need."

"Well, this might sound crazy but.... I would like to borrow your fraction of the Triforce." Link said quickly.

Zelda had a surprised look on her face. "My Triforce? What in the world would you possibly need my Triforce for? You aren't trying to gain more power are you?" Zelda asked.

"No! No! It's just... Well... I don't know how to put this...." Link said nervously.

Zelda looked at him with concerned eyes. "It's ok, take your time. What do you plan to use my Triforce for." Zelda said softly.

"Well...." Link took a big sigh. "I feel... that when the mirror shattered.... part of me shattered with it...."

Zelda looked at him for a moment, before taking a breath. "I understand Link. You want her back. I do too, but we have to think wisely here. Midna broke that mirror for a reason. She knew of the evils in her world, and she never wanted them to escape into ours again. As much as I want to see her again, I do not think it is safe to repair the mirror."

Link looked down at his feet. "I-I know,
I thought about that.... It's just..... I can't do anything anymore without... thinking about... her..."

"I can't either Link, but I had to accept what happened for the good our our world, and hers." Zelda replied with a sigh.

No..... She won't give it to me.... What am I going to do? I can't leave here without it... I have no where I can go...

"W-what if I offer you a deal?" Link asked desperately.

Zelda looked at him for a minute, while slowly squinting her eyes. "What is this deal you speak of." She asked.

"Well, if you give me your fraction, I will go and find a way to return to the twilight realm... Then, after I see Midna again, I will return to Hyrule, and destroy the mirror again, using the triforce once more. Then, I will return here, and give you both pieces of the triforce." Link explains.

Zelda had a surprised look on her face. "Both pieces? Why would you do that? Are you that desperate?" She asked with a different tone.

Link hesitated a moment. "I would give you both pieces so you would benefit from this deal, and it isn't one sided. Plus, I don't really need it anymore, I did what I needed to do."

Zelda looked at him for a minute. "I've actually been thinking about that... I did some research, and it turns out that once the person wielding the triforce has fulfilled their destiny, the triforce returns to the heavens, waiting for the next chosen ones to be reincarnated."

"Wait, are you saying?" Link asked in shock.

"I don't think we have fulfilled our destinies."
