"What? What do you mean?" Link asked looking up.

"I think that we still have our triforce pieces for a reason. The goddesses still think that we will need them. I cannot take your piece if it is necessary that you have it." Zelda stated.

"But Ganondarf is gone! What could we possibly still have to do?" Link said.

Zelda sat and stared off thinking for a moment. "That's the thing, when you came in here wanting to return to the twilight realm, I thought of something. What if that is what you still need to do. What if the goddesses want you to go back to the twilight realm? That is one of the only reasonable explanations  why we would still have our pieces."

"Are you implying that-"

"I am going to make my own deal with you. I will give you my piece of the triforce. You, will then go to the twilight realm. After you do that, if the triforce pieces have not left you, you will come back here and give me my piece back. If that does happen we will then figure out what we need to do next."

"Thank you Zelda. I-I just can't thank you enough."

"Don't thank me yet. Last time I checked, you will have two out of three pieces.  How do you know anything will happen?" Zelda said doubtfully.

"Well, I don't. I just hope something does." Link said hopefully.

Zelda sighed. "Give me your hand."

Link lifted his hand and Zelda placed hers on top. She then started to chant unrecognizable words under her breath. Her triangle of the triforce began to glow. The whole room suddenly filled with bright yellow light. Link looked down to see his hand glowing brightly as well. The glowing stopped and Zelda took a step back. Link lifted his hand to see that the mark he had since birth now had two glowing triangles. He looked up towards Zelda to see that she had a worried expression on her face.

"Thank you Zelda..." Link said while turning to walk away.

After he had made it halfway to the exit Zelda called out. "R-remember to come back!" She said with a shaky voice. Is she ok? Maybe it's just because of the absence of her piece of the triforce...

"I will." Link yelled out. He then turned back around, and exited the throne room. After awhile of traveling through broken rooms from the previous battles, he reached the exit of the castle. He opened the door and walked out. It actually worked! I might actually get to see Midna again! I need to get to the desert right away! Wait a minute. Don't get too excited. The odds of this actually working are incredibly low. No one has ever made a wish using only two pieces... You may as well just wait and see what happens...

Link walked back through the courtyard and over the bridge. When he reached castle town again, he saw the sun was setting, and the villagers were finishing up their day. Link walked to the southern end of the town to the market place. After looking around for a minute, he found a large apple for Epona. He stuck it in one of his many pouches he had left from his previous journey.

He walked to the western exit and crossed the bridge. He saw Epona waiting in the same place that he left her earlier.

"Hey girl!" Link said enthusiastically. Epona kicked her foot in the dirt lightly and blew air out of her nostrils.

"I know girl, sorry I took so long. I brought you something!" Link reached in his pouch and pulled out the apple. He offered to her and she gratefully took the apple, and devoured it in three bites. She then made an angry kick at the ground, signaling she wanted more.

"Sorry girl, that's all I could afford. Farming in a small village doesn't anyways pay the best." He stroked her mane and caught a glimpse of the almost complete triforce on his hand.

"Hey girl! Guess what. I did it! I got the triforce of wisdom!" He said very excited. Epona let out a loud whinny.

"You ready to go girl? We have a very long journey ahead of us." Link said enthusiastically.

Link took another look at the castle. I have a weird feeling. Almost like, as I look at the castle, it is the last time I will ever see it... Link brushed it off. That won't happen. After I go to the twilight realm, I'll be coming back here to return Zelda's triforce piece.

Link mounted Epona. I guess I should head for Gerudo desert. From there I guess I will attempt to use the part of the triforce I do have. He gave Epona a small kick and they began to ride down the path to the desert.

~~~~~~
They rode for about an hour before Link found himself practically falling asleep on Epona's back. He looked around and saw that they were in a nice field with a few trees. He could see a larger looking oak tree, not far ahead. They rode for a little while longer until they reached the tree. Link slowed Epona down, and dismounted her. He didn't bother to tie her to the tree, because she had never run off without him. He sat down under the big tree. It was then that he realized how under prepared he was to go to the desert. He had brought no food, no water, and nothing to help him keep warm at night. Well, I guess I didn't think I would make it this far...
He closed his eyes for a moment. What if this actually works. Then what will I do? Just go barging into the twilight realm? Will Midna even want to see me? Well... Why wouldn't she....
He looked into the distance, where you could begin to make out the tall pillars in the mirror chamber. He then feel into a deep sleep.
