Link stared back at the water. Ilia came at sat down next to him.

"Link.... this friend of yours..." Ilia said with a soft tone. "Did.... Did you love her?"

"What!?" Link said startled.

"I've never seen someone so upset about losing a friend." She implied.

Link froze. Love her? Did I love her? Link sat lost in his thoughts. That would explain all the sadness I've been feeling. No. It's impossible. We were just friends. Link then had a large flush of memories rush at him. He recalled when he first met Midna. She was rude. All that she wanted was to save her world. She didn't care about the world of light. Overtime though, she realized the light world was not as bad as she first thought. She began to care for the world opposite her own, and the people who dwelled in it. She sacrificed everything she had to save a world that did nothing for her in return. She understands... She is.. was.. the only one who understands. Maybe he did feel something towards her after all...

"I.... I don't know." Link lied.

"Well, never in my whole life, through all the time I knew you, have I ever seen you so depressed. A 'just friend' wouldn't trigger that kind of emotion inside of you."

Link sighs. "I can't figure out most of my emotions right now, I don't understand why I'm not myself. I'm home, it's all over. Shouldn't I be returning to my old life?"

"Link, I've been watching you ever since you came home. You aren't happy here." Ilia said with a gentle voice.

Link though got for a moment. "Yes I am, this is my home. I grew up here....."

"Don't lie to yourself Link. You've seen all of Hyrule, you defeated the biggest evil ever known to the land, you did so much. You don't think you are made for something a little bigger than farming?"

"I fulfilled my destiny, there is nothing else for me in that world..." Link said with a sigh.

"Not even that girl?"

Link froze. She doesn't know I can never see her again. Even if I could. Then what? Would she even want to see me?

" I...I can't." Link said, with the same sad voice he spoke in earlier.

"Why not? If you were that close, I'm sure she would love to see you."

"I can't. Link sounded angrier now. "She's gone. I can never see her again. She sacrificed us seeing each other again for the good of our  world, and hers."

Ilia stopped for a moment. It looked like she was in deep thought.

"Link."

"Yeah."

"Remember what you always used to tell me?"

"Kind of."

"Nothing is impossible."

Link looked at her. Some things are very impossible. I can't tell her that though. She believes in me. "There is nothing I can do..."

"So you're not even going to try? You're just going to accept the fact that you have to be a farmer for the rest of your life?" Ilia asked.

"I don't know... I guess..."

"Link.. I can see it in your eyes. You aren't happy here." She spoke in a voice that sounded sad, yet understanding.

Link remained silent.

"Go."

Link looked up. "What do yo-"

"Go and find her." Ilia interrupted.

Link looked at her for a minute. She's right. I can't stay here... I need to get her back... What about Ordan though, won't they need me? No, they have Colin, and Talo... they can always be farmers... or be the next mayor... I need to find her. I will never be at ease until I get to see her just one last time....

Link stood. He offered out his hand to Ilia, and she grabbed it. He helped her up from the sand, then gave her a long, gentle hug.

"Thank you." He said in a voice so quiet it was almost a whisper. He broke away and looked at her again. She nodded.

Link started towards his house. Once he got closer, he broke into a run. I am going to get her back. I have to...

He climbed the ladder quickly and went inside.

He stood in his house and looked around. What am I even doing? How do I pack for a journey, if I don't even know where I am going. Link looked over on the table where he had set his sword and shield the night before. He had a sudden realization. I still have the master sword. What am I supposed to do with it? He thought for a moment. Well, it seems that all the other heroes returned it, if I found it in the sacred grove. Maybe I should too...
Well, you can hold onto for just a little longer, who's it going to hurt?

Link grabbed his sword and shield and put them on his back. He then looked around again, thinking about what else he should bring. What does one bring on a journey? Last time I went on a quest like this, I left with the clothes on my back, nothing more. He looked by the ladder leading to his bed. There, he had a pile of things that he had acquired throughout his previous journey. He decided to grab his bow, bottles, lantern, and claw shots. Is that enough? Probably if I don't even know what I am doing.... yet.

Link was walking towards the door when he realized he should probably plan. Ok, slow down. How do you plan to repair the mirror? The mirror that was made by the goddesses themselves, which can only be truly destroyed by the twilight princess? Sounds pretty hard to repair...

At that moment he sighed and looked down at his hands. I'm just a Hylian, what can someone as powerless as me do? Link froze. Powerless? But you have the.... The Triforce of courage. The most powerful object in all of Hyrule, and you have a third of it on the back of your hand. That has to be able to do something....

Link then looked over towards his books. Wait! Don't I have a book about the mysterious powers of Hyrule? Link went to the bookshelf as fast as he possibly could without falling off his stool. He began pulling out books left and right, looking for the familiar title. Finally, he found the book he was looking for.

He looked at the cover. The Strange and Mysterious Powers of Hyrule. He opened it quickly and began to flip through pages. Finally, he found the chapter about the Triforce. He began to read. The Triforce is by far one of the most mysterious powers in Hyrule. It is also the most powerful, and was made by the three golden goddesses themselves. When all three pieces of the Triforce are joined together, they can grant any wish, desired by the wielder. Link sighed. The Triforce can only be of use to him if he has all three parts. He thought for a moment. I have one piece, Zelda has the second and Ganondarf has the third... HAD the third... Where was it now? Did it return to the goddesses? Either way, I don't have it, and I don't know how to get it.

Link sat in the quietness of his house for a minute. Maybe if I ask Zelda, she will lend me her Triforce. I would give it back of course, I just need to see Midna.

I wonder what would happen if I make a wish with two thirds of the Triforce... would it do anything? Well, it's worth a shot. If it doesn't, I can find a way to get the third piece.

Link stood up. It's settled then. Link was going to Hyrule castle..... again.
