Arthur's Return (Merlin BBC)

Chapter VI.

We arrived at Camelot about 8 pm. Although we traveled in time, my watch still worked perfectly. People cheered and greeted the king.Everyone was smiling and waving at me. After we stepped into the castle Percival and Gaius came to greet us.

“Your majesty” Percival and Gaius said together.

Then they turned around and saw me behind Merlin looking around the castle.

“We welcome you to Camelot, Milady.” Gaius said.

“Oh, thank you. You can call me Emma.” I smiled at them.

“I should show you around a bit…” Merlin said but was interrupt by Arthur.

“Merlin, There will be a big fest tonight because the King returned from the haunting… ” he said, pointing to it as an excuse for their disappearance.

“And you know that the King needs to look presentable on a fest like that.”

“So?” Merlin asked.

“That means you will need to clean my boots and wash my clothes … ” Arthur pointed out.  

Merlin just nodded irritatingly. The fact that Arthur knew about his magic  now didn't helped. He needed to do his job as a servant. Merlin and I followed Arthur to the upper corridor.

“We didn’t even went haunting.” Merlin whispered angrily at Arthur.

“So what. You have magic… Cast a spell and bring a dead deer or something.” He made a furious move with his hands.

We were interrupt by Gwen who wanted to talk to me. “Oh, here are you Emma. Come to my chambers so we can prepare you for the fest tonight. ” she smiled at me.

“Yes, sure.” I waved to the boys and followed her.

Merlin started talking to Arthur after I disappeared behind the corner “And how would you explain Emmas  presence…” Arthur just looked at him.

Merlin continued “Like oh, we were hunting but then saw a girl who’s claimed to be a princess and took  her to Camelot.” He was really annoyed by Arthurs thoughtless actions.

“Yes, pretty much like that.” Arthur said.

“And now you should go back to work…” he said  tapping Merlins shoulder. Then he walked away, leaving Merlin staring at him angrily.

Gwen gave me a dark purple dress to wear. It was absolutely beautiful. But it was a bit weird to wear a corset, it’s really hard to move and sit. I don’t know how the women managed that.

“Here you go. You are a pretty princess. No wonder every knight’s attracted by you.”

“Oh really, I didn’t notice that.” I said blushing and playing with my necklace.

“That's a beautiful crystal.” She was pointing at my necklace.

“Thank you, my mother gave me this… It’s the only thing left from her.” I said lying.

I couldn’t tell her the truth, she might think I’m crazy or something.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” She said looking to the ground.

“It’s ok…”

“What is this ok?” she asked curiously.

“Oh, right...That’s a word from where I am. It means alright.” I said smiling at her.

I liked the fact that I could teach all these people things they didn’t, well, invented yet. We went down to the Banquet Hall and saw all the people staring at us. This might sounds cheeky, but I truly felt like a princess.

After the dinner (which was a fried deer) and a couple of  conversations, I felt tired. So I went to my chambers which Merlin showed me a few hours ago. I soon fell asleep. And then...

BAM! I opened my eyes after hearing something explode in the village. I opened the window to see what happened. There were a few houses burning. I decided to stay in the chamber knowing that here I’m safe.

A few minutes past when my door slammed open. There was a worried Merlin standing in front of me.

“Emma! Oh, you’re here… I thought you were kidnapped.” he said breathing heavily after running through the village.

“What? What happened?” I asked looking at him.

“Morgana’s back! And she came to get someone. I thought she meant you. ”

“Where is she? Is she in the village?”

 “Yes, she’s there. Arthur and me ran there when we heard the bang. She’s there with an old druid called Ianamros Pegason. He’s a skilled dark wizard on her side.”

“ Wait… if she’ not after me, who does she want?”

“Everyone is here except… I didn’t check if…” he looked me straight into the eyes.

I immediately ran down to the houses that were burning. I saw the knights and Arthur standing there face to face against Morgana and Ianamros. Arthur pulled out his sword and so did the other knights. Soon Merlin came.

“Oh Arthur… Do you think I came here to fight… Don’t be silly… That will come one day but now, now I’m here to get someone who will help me becoming the true heir to the throne.” Morgana said smiling evilly.

Ianamros came from behind her. He was a really strong wizard with a long cloak on. Suddenly it started to rain. I could see that he pulled someone out from the dark. Every one’s eyes  were wide when they saw who she meant. It was Gaius. Merlins eyes started to tear up. He wanted to save him but as soon as he tried to cast a spell they disappeared. We stood there knowing that we need to save him, no matter what.
