(9) Winter Soldier Pt 2

Third Person POV

After the brawl on the Lumarian Star, Steve and Lifeguard went to the Smithsonian. Lifeguard always wanted to come to this place. She looked around in wonder when she saw Sam Witwicky. He looked shocked that Captain America had come to the Smithsonian of all places. "Steve, to your left. You see that young man with the blonde?" she asked him.

Steve looked over at Sam, "Who is he?" Steve asked.

"Like the Avengers he too gave his life for the Earth three times. Mission city, Egypt, and Chicago. His name is Samuel Witwicky. Sam for short. Bumblebee was his guardian." she said.

Lifeguard signaled him over. "Hello Sam, I heard a lot about you from my brother Sides." she said.

"How is he?" Sam asked.

"He is fine though a lot of NEST and the Autobots have joined S.H.I.E.L.D." she replied.

Sam nodded. "Is Bee with them?" he asked.

"We haven't heard anything from Bee in a while, but we do know he is in hiding." Steve said.

"I know Director Fury and Optimus talked regularly after Chicago." Sam said.

"If we hear from Bee we will let you know. Also Ironhide told me to give this to you just in case." Lifeguard said handing Sam a comm link, it looked like a Bluetooth ear-thingy.

"Thank you. I will use it when I have to. Thank you for watching out for them." Sam said as he and his girlfriend left.

Steve looked at Lindsey in shock, "I remember meeting him right after Egypt." Steve said, "He was respectful to say the least. His mother on the other hand..."

"Mrs. Julie has always been a little odd even to me. When Sam started off in collage his mother bought pot laced brownies." Lindsey said trying not to laugh.

"I can only imagine what that was like." Steve replied as they headed to the Captain America tribute side of the building.

Lifeguard's POV

I promised Ratchet I would send him footage and did a live stream to him and the others as we walked through the exhibit.

I placed a hand on Steve's shoulder when we got to the monument to his friend Bucky. I had to admit both of them were handsome men, but only one of them made it home especially being trapped in the ice for 70 years. We headed to the nursing home that housed Peggy Carter. I waited outside of the room, his war time sweetheart was old and would one day pass. I gave Steve space with her, not wanting to get in between them. "Who is the lovely girl you brought that is standing out side the door?" Peggy asked.

"That is Lindsey Tron, she is one of the newest Avengers beside her twin Lulu." Steve said.

Peggy smiled softly at Steve, "You are moving on Steve, just as I hoped you would. She is a brave young woman to put up with your antics."

"And Tony's." I tossed in trying not to laugh.

Peggy chuckled, "Take care of him would you?" she asked.

"With my life." I said.

After we left we headed home where Kate was coming out of her apartment.
