(12) The Winter Soldier Part 5

Steve's P.O.V

After handing the files to Fury a week ago the worst happened, someone had killed Fury. Lindsey, Natasha, and I were now on the run. It was for a lack of a better word...a cluster fuck. While Natasha drove to Jersey in my stead I sat in the back with Lindsey. "Ironhide and the others are in hiding. They will help when we need them. Though I can't help but think this is going to turn into more of a headache." she said.

"I know the feeling, have you found anything on the Winter Soldier?" I asked.

"Not a damn thing, though all of his files could be paper. I can't find any trace of this ghost," she said.

I kissed the top of her head, "Get some rest we should be there within an hour or two." I said.

"Alright, I just hope that Lulu is alright," she replied.

"She has Tony with her what could go wrong?" Natasha asked.

"A bit could go wrong," Lindsey replied.

I laughed at that Tony and Landfall were an odd couple if there ever was one, add to the fact that Sunny hated it was down right funny to a point. I looked over to see Liz fall asleep her face angelic even in her bi-ped form she was still beautiful to me. We arrived at my old camp the camp I was trained at when I was a 5'4'' 95-pound asthmatic. Liz walked up beside me. "Well I have knowledge of all military regulations and that building is out of place. Then again it's a secret building with a secret elevator leading to some unknown tech." she said.

Natasha and I nodded and walked over to the building. Using my shield I broke that lock and we entered the building. "This was where S.H.I.E.L.D began." Liz said in wonder.

I looked over and saw photos of Colonel Philips, Howard Stark, and Peggy. Liz smiled, "She was beautiful, I'm sure we would have gotten along famously." she said.

"You would have thought your sister may have killed Howard," I said.

Liz thought a moment then nodded with a look on her face that said, 'I can see it.' Then her face changed then she said, "But if that had happened she wouldn't have ever met Tony. Which I am glad she did she is less insecure, less hostile, and her temper is longer."

Lifeguard's P.O.V

We went into the secret room to find an old data point. 2000 feet of data banks I scanned the area with my eyes as Natasha booted up the system. The camera began to move, "Natali Romanov born 1984, Captain Steven Rogers born 1918, and Lindsey Tron born 1989." said a voice.

I saw Steve freeze and knew something was wrong. "It's some kind of recording." Natasha said.

"I am not a recording, I may not be the same man Captain America captured back in 1944." the voice said as a photo of a short man with glasses appeared on screen .

"Armin Zola, former HYDRA scientist died from terminal cancer back in 1970," I said pulling up his records.

"You would be correct my dear, though you're not human are you?" the recording asked.

"I am a technopath," I said.

"Ah, you my dear are a rare find indeed, HYDRA could use someone of your talents," Zola said.

"Not a chance in hell," I growled.

Zola chuckled and went on to say how HYDRA was alive with in the world and its government as well as S.H.I.E.L.D. I accessed hidden shield files and discovered Brock Rumlow and his team were Fury's men on the inside. Had been for years after Peggy stepped down as Director, "You asshats waited for Director Carter to leave office before slithering out of the shadows." I said.

"Cut off one head two more shall take its place, HYDRA grew a beautiful parasite within S.H.I.E.L.D," Zola said.

"Then prove it," said Steve.

Zola brought up photos and documents of HYDRA and its Winter Soldier. The people he had killed including Tony's father and mother as well as Fury. I felt my rage build up and my sibling's worry at what I was feeling, "Short range ballistic." Natasha said snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Who fired it?" Steve asked.

"S.H.I.E.L.D." Natasha and I said at once as I pulled a grate out of the floor and jumped in Steve and Natasha right behind me as it hit. 

We were safe for now.

Landfall's P.O.V

I felt my sister's rage and ran into Tony's lab where Bruce and Ratchet worked on some things. Ratchet having a pretender form made it a lot easier now to work in a larger, but smaller work space as a human. "Lulu what is it?" Tony asked.

"It's Liz, she is angered about something and you should check out the news. S.H.I.E.L.D labeled Natasha, Steve, and Liz as fugitives. Saying they had a hand in Director Fury's murder." I said.

Tony shot to his feet and began hacking away as I linked up to the systems running my own search without computers when I picked up an encoded message from my sister on my e-mail. I ran the decode program 'HYDRA is within S.H.I.E.L.D'

"8 and 4 and shit and 2 is a fraction, Tony we have a problem. A fucking huge one." I said.

"What is it?" asked Ratchet.

"S.H.I.E.L.D is compromised," I said.

"How and by whom?" Tony asked.

"HYDRA," I said.

Tony's face turned pale. "Maybe since someone didn't want Steve to find out." said Bruce.

"They will be targeting Avengers next." I said, "Just to get to us Autobots."

Ratchet contacted the hideout and gave Ironhide heads up while I tried to contact my sister, I wasn't the only one; Sunny, Sides, Skywarp, and Thundercracker were all trying to contact her. I knew in my spark that she was still alive......I would've been on the floor glitching in pain for a good three Earth hours before offlining myself if she wasn't.

I looked to Tony worried that even if she wasn't offline she could still be seriously injured. Because me and Lifeguard were Triple changer Cybertronians and could transform into a human mode, we couldn't fizzle out of our human forms to avoid injury unlike the other Autobots. That was one disadvantage. The human way of interfacing was interesting Tony was pretty good at show and tell, that was an advantage. I snapped my thoughts back to my sister and back to the physical Tony as well. He walked over to me once he saw my face and he hugged me. I thought back to when I would've ripped his arms off for even touching me and now I melted into his arms holding back Energon tears.
