Chapter 9

~Alicia's POV~

Finally the holidays were over for about a week now and I regretably mastered everything I was supposed to.

I've set a few muggles free and told the Dark Lord that they ran off.

So far he has yet to find out the truth so that's good I guess.

Draco hasn't spoken to me since I arrived and that scared me.

I was in my father's office throwing a snitch in the air and catching it waiting for him to come in.

After about an hour he came in and froze.

"Where have been over the holidays? You were meant to stay here."

"So I guess you don't know then. He wanted me there over the holidays so I could learn some stuff."

He sighed and said "How many times have you defied him?"

"Is this in front of him or secretly?"

"YOU'VE BEEN SECRETLY DEFYING HIM?!!"

"Well yeah. You told me to be careful so I was."

"What have you done?" He said sitting down putting his head in his hands.

"Set a few muggles free."

"Alicia that is a death sentence."

"Too bad I can't die."

"What do you mean?"

"Let's just say I think I'm getting used to being....tortured."

"Your almost to your strongest peak. Although stronger than your mother. She has difficulty dealing with the pain."

"Why am I so different than her by the way? Does it get stronger by generations or something?"

"Not quite. No. There was one of your ancestors who was so weak that they thought she was witch. That was until she transformed into other animals. Which I found out you inherited."

"I'd love to find out what I didn't inherit."

"So would I. So far you have inherited every power the Enchantresses in the past have had."

"That's a bit odd don't you think."

"Not really. On a different note. How is the mission."

"Almost complete. I'm fixing the cabinet. Draco is having difficulties at the moment."

"What do you mean?" My father asked concerned.

"He isn't speaking to me. He won't look at me nothing. It's been that way since I arrived."

"Why do you think that is?"

"Maybe because I brought him here and left him here by himself I'm not sure. But we made a silent agreement that I will do the cabinet for a bit since he had to deal with it over the holidays."

"He attacked a student the other day."

"He did what?!?" I asked shocked.

"Unintentionally of course. He cursed a necklace and Katie Bell to not to touch the necklace nor tell anyone what she was doing. She was supposed to deliver it to Dumbledore."

"He's trying to get half of the mission over with. So we don't have to worry about it. That was a stupid attempt though."

"That's what I told him."

"I wish he would talk to me."

"Give him time Alicia. Do what you are doing now and worry about your mission. And speaking of which. Dumbledore is back. He would like to speak to you and Harry."

"Great. That means another meeting with the Dark Lord."

"I have actually talked to him about that and me and him agreed that you would report it to me and I to him."

"So basically you're an owl. Father no I'm fine."

"It's been done Alicia."

"When will you stop protecting me? I am fine on my own."

"Not when you are setting muggles free Alicia."

"I get that and I'm sorry."

"I hope so. Now get some rest."

"I'll try."

I went into my room not really wanting to go to the common room.

I put my head down and instantly went to sleep.

~Dream~

I was in a dark room I think. Everything around me was dark.

"You have grown pretty strong young one." A voice rang through the room.

I looked behind me in fear and said "whose there?"

"Don't be scared child. I am only one of your ancestors."

Realization hit me and I said "you're just like me."

"Yes. I was in the same situation as you are but when Grindelwald was in power."

"Did you go dark?"

"Halfway."

"What do you mean halfway?"

"I was both light and dark. I protected the ones I loved and others I didn't know by using dark magic."

"My mother did the same and yet she's dark."

"That is because she let it consume her. You must not let it happen. But you can not blow your cover either dear. Pretend to be loyal to him and inform your true person that you are loyal to any information you gather. That way you won't get hurt. Stay strong my dear."

"Will you please tell me who you are?"

All of a sudden a light emerged and a woman appeared.

"My name is Arianna. I am your great-great grandmother. If you want more information you can find me in some books. Take this." She said handing me a black crystal necklace.

"It will protect you from your mother. She may not be as powerful but she is highly skilled in Dark magic. Once the war begins, show your true loyalties. Convince your lover to do the same. Stay strong young one. You're nearly there."

"So if I do this, I will be both."

"Yes. And you would be the most powerful Enchantress that has ever lived."

"Thank you. Thank you so much."

~End of Dream~

I woke with a start and looked around to see I was in my own room.

I then thought it was just a dream until I looked around my neck to see the necklace Arianna had given me.

I immediately got up and walked out of my room and into my father's study.

I closed my eyes and said "Accio books about Arianna."

A ton of books flew my way some almost knocking me in the head.

I levitated them to my room and began searching.
