Chapter 15 Revelation

Bootcamp week 10 (continued Aug 14)

Dr Sean Green's POV

At this point I am positive she doesn't have a vitamin deficiency. Not after she threw up at the end of the run. If it would have been because of the vitamins she would have ceased puking after they left her system.  But then Sang threw up three more times during our calisthenics.  Serge worried that she should stop but she insisted that she was fine and we all needed to stop treating her like a fragile baby.  She is determined to win the whole war games and 'showing weakness' was unacceptable to our girl.  We had to back off or suffer the consequences.

I just need to get her alone so we can have a talk.  That is if she wants to talk to me.  She might request to talk to a different doctor, since I am engaged to her.  At this point I am ready to pull my hair out.  I don't know who I am more angry at.  The culprit or myself for not insisting she get the proper care to protect herself.  Ugh!

"Sang, When we finish collecting the trash, can we have a talk?  I'm concerned for your health.  Since you started throwing up, you haven't kept anything down.  Not milk, not water, not Sprite, not even crackers.  Within twenty minutes of eating or drinking something, you are expunging the contents of your stomach again.  Your energy will be zapped before you know it."

She rolled her eyes, "I'm fine Sean.  It's just a little stomach bug.  I'm sure it will pass in twenty-four hours.  My immune system has been pretty good most of my life."

"I'm sure it has.  But as a doctor, your welfare is of utmost importance."

"Then go ahead and ask your questions."

I looked at the others that were within earshot.  "Before I talk to you, you need to understand HIPPA rules and regulations.  As a doctor, I cannot discuss your's or anyone's health, treatment, medications, etc unless they have been approved by the patient.  That includes spouses, children, and parents, unless the child is a minor, then the parent can be informed."

"Oh.  Um, I don't think I need to keep anything from each of you.  We will be married in six months."  She began worrying her bottom lip with her finger.  From the corner of my eye, I saw Nathan take a half step toward Sang.

I plowed on with my conversation.  "I also need to know if you would rather have a different doctor discuss your current health with you."

"Never!  You are my doctor Sean."

"Then as your doctor, I think this discussion needs to happen without the others around."

"Huh?  Why?  I'm not going to keep secrets from anyone."  She was getting upset with me.

I covered my eyes with my hands.  By now, the others had stopped collecting trash and they are all listening, even if they don't appear to be.  "Fine.  Finish collecting the trash.  We have a family meeting in three minutes in our barracks."

I took hold of Sang and started towards the barracks before the others could catch up.  "What's going on Sean?  You have me worried?  Do you think I have a contagious disease or something."

I laughed humorlessly, "What you have is definitely NOT contagious.  The others are safe."

"Then what is it?"

I took a quick look over my shoulder to make sure the others are out of earshot.  Damn it to hell and back!  They have to be nosy nellies all the goddamn time!  The whole group of them are running to catch up.  We don't have anymore time.  "The instant you want what we talk about to be private, just say stop.  Got it?"
