Laurie and Val: The Arranged Marriage

WHAT!!! ( Val )

Val's Pov: I have been in the gym all day with Mak's working out getting ready for the winter Ball.

I am the second prince of Russia behind my older brother Mak's.

Mak's is married to his wife Peta Of one year but we still spend a lot of time together getting in shape for the winter ball next week.

Mak's and I were doing bench press and he was spotting me and the weight that I was currently lifting. That was until our father walked into the Gym that we were currently working out in.

" Maksim and Valentin, your mother and I want you both in the family room in one hour. We have important news that we ar going to tell you" with that he walked out

" What do think that was about?" I ask my big brother

" I have no idea what that was about but it sounded serious so we better hurry up because if we are not in the family room in an hour dad is going to be pissed" He tells me

We finished our workout 5 minutes later and headed upstairs to get a shower.

Mak's Pov: Val and I are working out together to get ready for the winter ball that will take place in one week.

Val had just finished two sets of bench press when our father walked into the room.

He told Val and I that he and our mother want us in the family room in one hour because they have some important news to tell us.

We made it to the family room to find our parents sitting down . This isn't good. When our parents sitting down to tell us something it is probably something that they know that we won't like very much.

" Boys, Sit down" Our father tells us

" Mama, Papa. What is it that you need to tell us?" Val asks our parents politely

" Val, You are engaged to be married to the First female Olympic gymnast and princess of Spain " Our father says

Val opens his mouth to say something but is stopped by our father raising his hand signaling Val not to speak.

" She will be here tomorrow. So I suggest that you get over any ill willed feelings towards your pending nuptials and fiancee before then" Our father tells Val

" Papa, I am 23 years old. I am not ready to be married. " Val tries to explain to our father

" Well, I suggest that you make your yourself ready for this because it is happening whether you like it or not. You are dismissed boys." Our father

An angry Val and I leave the family room. Val and I started to walk around the palace corridors aimlessly. We walked and I listened to Val talk about his pending nuptials.

" I don't even know her. I don't know her age, her personality. I don't even know what she looks like. I am not ready for marriage. I am only 23 years old". Val tells me in a fast and angered rant

" Val , I understand how you feel, but maybe you should give your mystery bride to be the benefit of the doubt. She doesn't know you either and as hard and as difficult this may be for you it must be 10x as hard for her" I point out to my little brother who finally looks like he is listening

" Your right. I am acting like a jerk . This is really difficult for me but for her it must be on another level of difficulty" Val says realizing how he was acting

Val's Pov : I am going to be meeting my fiancee tomorrow, I am a little nervous but I am sure that she is more nervous than I could ever be.

I know that I was acting like a self centered jerk when I found out about my arranged marriage but I know that papa would only pick someone for me to marry that he thought would be a good match for me.
