A Cinderella Story

Chapter 19

"Stay here for a little while longer." Talia whispered into Killian's ear while both were on the bed.

Killian nodded drowsily. "As long as you want."

"Mom. Where's Killian?" Henry asked.

Emma sighed. She didn't know what to say. "He left."

"Like papa?" Henry asked.

Emma nodded. "Like papa."

Lilli waddled over asking for her milk. Emma handed the bottle to her. Giggling, Lilli started drinking it.

Emma and Henry smiled. They sat together on a bench just outside the castle walls.

Around 11:30, Killian and Talia got dressed and went out into the garden.

Emma requested to enter the castle to speak with the king.

"Hi Emma. The kingdom's thriving right?" Brennen said extra cheerful.

"Brennen cut the act. You know your kingdom is falling me apart."

Brennen sighed. "Either way, it allied us against this world's strongest kingdom."

Killian and Talia entered the room from the garden.

"Who is this?" Killian asked.

Those words stung Emma's heart like a bee sting. "I'm Emma. Emma Swan."

"Swan." Killian nodded. "Parents?"

"Queen Snow White and King David Charming." Emma replied.

Talia shot Emma a disgusted look. "Killy come on. We have work to do." She took Killian and her knights to the village.

Lilly, not seeing where she was going, bumped into Killian's leg. She stumbled backward and looked up giggling. "Pa-pa."

Emma's heart dropped. Lilli clearly didn't know what was happening. Emma hurried over. 

"I'm so sorry." Emma apologized. "She's just learning to walk."

Killian knelt down beside Lilli. "Hi little lady." He smiled, stroking Lilli's cheek with the back of his index finger. 

"Pa-pa." Lilli repeated smiling. 

Killian laughed. "I'm not your father, sweetheart." He looked at Talia. "I want to have kids."

"I don't." Talia scoffed. "Killian. Let's go."

Emma took Lilli in her arms and as tears flooded her eyes she hurried out of the castle with Henry beside her. 

"Why is Killian with that witch?" Henry asked. 

"Henry that's not nice to say. And I don't know."

"It's true. He's somehow under her spell."

"I don't have magic to defeat it. He's lost to us."

"No!" Henry yelled. He ran down the gravel road and into their house. Emma and Lilli slowly followed behind him.

Before Emma knew about it, the whole kingdom was falling to Talia's curse. Everyone loved and admired her. Everyone except for Emma, Henry and Lilli. 

"My Queen, come." A villager bowed.

Talia grinned. She lifted her hand and rotated her wrist, magically snapping the villager's neck. "Sacrifice." 

The villagers nodded as if it was okay. 

Henry was dumbfounded. "Do you not see what this witch is doing to us? She's controlling all of you. Snap out of it!"

"Henry stop. Get back here." Emma commanded. 

"Mom you know its true."

"I know Henry. But this isn't the way to do it. We'll figure something out."

"Promise?"

"Promise." 

Emma hoped this curse would pass. She really didn't want either of her kids to grow up without a father. Especially Henry. He had been through so much already. Emma didn't want to have to explain once again where Lilli's father was when she would start asking questions. 

Sighing, Emma got the kids to bed and she went to bed as well. They all had a long day ahead of them.
