4. Konohagakure

The red-haired boy pushes the man out of the way.

"Stand down", he commands. You look back at the man and watched him bow.

"Yes, I am sorry, Lord Kazekage", he stuttered. Then it hit you. Kazekage, this guy was the Kazekage, you fell to your knees and bowed.

"I'm sorry I didn't know, please don't tell them, please", you whimpered. You could hear his footsteps as he drew closer to you, kneeling to meet your gaze.

Gaara's POV

As soon as she heard that I was Kazekage she freaked out. She fell down her knees, repeatedly saying sorry and that she didn't mean to. I had no clue what she was talking about. Then I heard her say something that smacked me in the face.

"Please don't make me go back, they were trying to kill, the Yorukage was trying to kill me". I walked over and crouched next to her, tapping her lightly on the shoulder. She looked up, her eyes had become puffy from crying.

"You don't need to be afraid", I told her. I grabbed onto her arm, helping her up. My hand rested on her shoulder allowing me to notice her breathing quickening. I scanned her face seeing an expression of pure fear, she was hyperventilating. I tried to soothe her but I didn't know how. I tightly gripped her as she slipped out of consciousness, her body falling lip in my arms.

Timeskip

Your POV

I woke up in a white room that smelt like cleaning products. I tried to move but I felt a strong pain shoot up my arm. I looked down at it and saw that I was hooked up to an IV, I must be in a hospital.

Then you heard the door of the room open and in stepped a pink-haired girl. She smiled at you when she entered, looking down at a clipboard she was holding.

"Hi I'm Sakura", she said in an energetic voice. I tried smiling but it caused the cut on my cheek to sting.

"I'm (Y/n)". She sat in a chair beside your bed and began reading off of the clipboard.

"It says that you had a panic attack", she states, raising an eyebrow at you. You shrugged, you had never had one before.

"You were lucky that we let you into our village, you know".

"Why did you let me in then?", you asked. She smiled, revealing her pearly white teeth.

"Because Gaara took responsibility for you".

"Gaara?".

"Yeah Gaara, the Kazekage".

You remembered him, the boy with bright red hair and the yellow floating stuff. He had been really kind to you, even though you barely knew him.

"You should really thank him", she said. "He never left your side while you were unconscious". A blush spread across your face, curious as to why he had done such a thing. You opened your mouth to ask how long you were out but she interrupted.

"Four days". Wow, he sat by you for four days, but why? Sakura winked at you but you had no idea what for.

"By the way, Gaara had to leave for a meeting with the Hokage this morning, that's why he isn't here". She had already answered all of your questions and you didn't even have to say anything. You smiled at her and ignored the pain in your cheek.

"So where are you from?", she asked, changing the subject. You shifted on the bed, should you really tell her about your secret village? No one knew about the night village as it was hidden underground and everyone, even the bravest shinobi, avoided the land of caverns. Many tales have been invented to scare people off, some think that there are cannibals, monsters and rogue shinobi that hide among the many caves and underground tunnels.

"The village hidden in the night". She stopped and looked at you with a strange expression on her face.

"The what?".

You had been avoiding questions from Sakura for an hour now. Your eyelids felt heavy and you left a chatty Sakura alone as you drifted off to sleep.

Time Skip

You woke up the next morning and stretched. Sitting up in bed you rubbed your sleepy eyes. You were no longer hooked up the IV and could freely move about. You stood and hobbled over to the end of the bed where your clothes were lying, folded neatly. You looked out the window and in the reflection, you saw him.

Gaara.

He was sitting in the chair beside your bed, fast asleep. His chest rising and falling slowly. You noticed that the dark circles around his eyes were more prominent than before, he must've stayed up really late. You went over to the bathroom and began changing. (A/n: I know that Gaara doesn't sleep but imagine how adorable it would be <3)

Five minutes later you returned to the room wearing your skirt, shirt, tights, sandals and kunai pouch. You opened it and making sure everything was inside.

Fan, check.

Scroll, check.

Photo, check.

Shuriken, check.

Kunai, check.

Everything was there, you felt the locket around your neck and smiled. You were ready, now it was time to awaken Gaara...
