That Explains A Lot.

Two updates in one day?  Who am I! I'm in the writing zone and who needs sleep? So here we are again.  I went looking for a prompt and found one in LostinLibraries prompt book!  So now you get sick Leo with some worried siblings!  Read on my lovelies and tell me what you think in the comments!

Leo wiped the sweat out of his eyes for the umpteenth time.  It was normal for Bunker 9 to be warm, but holy Hephaestus, this was ridiculous.  Leo blinked to clear his vision and went back to working on Festus.  The dragon had been through a lot in the past few months and needed some serious TLC, inside and out.

"It looks almost as bad in here as when I found you buddy."  Leo pulled open another access panel and started wiping the think black oil away to reveal the shiny bronze.

Festus whirred and clicked, which was basically his equivalent to purring, so Leo knew he was on the right track.

Suddenly, Leo's stomach cramped and he was clutching his ladder.  The feeling was gone as suddenly as it had come and Leo resumed his work.

When he was satisfied that he had done all he could for the time being Leo closed the panel on Festus's back and climbed down from his ladder.  He reached the ground and once again got a cramp in his stomach that had brought it's friend, nausea.  Leo sat down on the bottom step of the ladder and put his head in his hands.  He could feel the room spinning around him, even though he couldn't see it.

Leo wasn't sure how long he sat with his head in his hands, but he suddenly heard someone in front of him clear their throat.  He looked up, hoping the nausea had gone, it hadn't.

"Hey Nyssa.  Whatcha doing in here?"

"You were gone for a while.  Harley wanted to make sure Festus didn't turn on you and eat you."

"Still not dragon chow."  Leo swallowed thickly.  Sweat was dripping into his eyes again, but he couldn't find the energy to wipe it away.  Why was it so hot in here?

"You look like crap."  Nyssa offered.

"I happen to be a fine specimen of the male species, thank you very much"  This would have sounded much more suave if it hadn't come out as whimper.  Another stomach cramp caused Leo to clutch his midsection.

"No, I mean you look sick."  Nyssa moved to kneel down where Leo was sitting and put a hand to his forehead.  Leo leaned into the cool touch, unable to stop himself.

"I'm totally fine.  Just a little tummy trouble."

"Really Casanova?  You're sweating bullets and it's the middle of May.  Children of Hephaestus already run hot-"

"I like to think it's more than that."  Leo interrupted, trying for a smile.

"Shut up.  You shouldn't be this hot.  I think it's safe to say you're sick.  And by the sounds your stomach is making, I'd say it's food poisoning.  You know the "best by" date on food isn't a suggestion."

"Who made you the Food Police? Plus, that chicken was totally within the "best by" date."

"Maybe ten years ago. I don't need to be the Food Police to know that we need to get you back to the cabin now.  You're brain is gonna boil in this heat plus your fever.  You really can't afford to lose anymore brain cells."  Nyssa rolled her eyes.

Leo was about to make a retort, but suddenly didn't feel very confident of his lunch's ability to stay in his stomach if he opened his mouth, and decided against it.  Nyssa stood and held out her hand. Leo took it and stood, made sure he was steady on his feet and the two set off for the Hephaestus cabin.

The walk through camp was agonizingly slow.  Nyssa was almost carrying Leo by the time they arrived at the cabin doorstep.  She helped him inside and over to his bed.  Leo lay down and curled into the fetal position, not even bothering to remove his boots.

"What's wrong with him?"  Harley asked.

"The idiot ate expired chicken the other day and now he's getting what he asked for."  Nyssa hoped it wasn't obvious that she was a little worried for Leo.  He had become like a little brother to her.

"Didn't ask for it."  Leo mumbled into his pillow.

Nyssa rolled her eyes and grabbed a trash can from the bathroom, no doubt Leo would be using it soon.  No sooner had Nyssa put the trash can beside Leo's bed then he was spilling his lunch into it.

"We'll check on you later.  Feel better dummy."  Nyssa and Harley walked toward the door.  As Nyssa left she turned off the lights and pushed a button beside the light switch that caused curtains to pull down over the windows, thrusting the room into darkness.  She looked over her shoulder one last time and waited until she was satisfied that Leo's breathing had evened out enough to signify that he was asleep and shut the door.

So this didn't go at all in the direction I thought it would, anyways, let me know if you like it.  I actually really enjoyed writing Nyssa.  I think she and Leo would definitely become pretty close over time.  Suddenly I need all of the Leo/Nyssa BroTP!
